Title… how many pvp/pve servers etc…?
Think pvp will be more popular than pve? Or vice versa this time?
they are planning on only 3 servers at launch one for pvp, one for pve, one for hardcore. because apparently blizzard loves megaservers even though they aren’t true to vanilla.

Did you watch the announcement? They were clear there will be one PVE server and one PVP server.
The players do too. We saw in SoD the very common occurrence of 10 layers. It’ll be the same here.

I honestly think that’s the right move. Opening up a bunch of servers is annoying. We have to do our research and coordinate which ones to roll on depending on what we want… I actually want to be on a populous server because it opens up the economy and AH. Easier to find groups, possible to PUG ZG/AQ20 etc…
True to Vanilla? I mean, I’m all for staying true to the original but do we just ignore tech upgrades? Do we downgrade the graphics and add latency? Do we re-introduce spell batching? Do we block WoWhead, Icy and addons? No. It’s 2024… some things will never be the same as it was in 2004, and that’s probably ok.
Plus opening server transfers because there’s too many servers is a cash grab, leaves realms dead, people get angry etc…
1 server is the way. I applaud Blizzard.
I hate mega servers. I’d rather play with a smaller community.
