Do warriors still suck 1v1?

hi all - arms is obviously s tier right now in organized pvp. curious to hear if they do well in 1v1 situations now in wpvp and bg’s. on my decently geared rogue i ran into some beefy arms warrior that put up a good fight. i think they spec into impending victory and seem to never die. have the perception of warrior needing a pocket healer changed?

In a 1v1, not stellar, but it depends…on a bunch of things. Can we 1v1 something, potentially, but again…depends on a bunch of stuff.

In terms of pocket healer, helps to have one…depending on a bunch of things. Warrior obviously depends on a healer more than some other classes, given they lack self heals outside of Victoria Rush, talented rush that not many take, and of course … … POTS POTS POTS.

Don’t forget the Al’ar cheat death trinket because…lols. Not even sure if it works in rated stuff (confirmation would be nice).

I’ve only touched random BGs with 17% Versatility, but the only thing to straight up eat me on sight are rogues.

It’s possible I thunk depending on the opponent and how ready they are but we can interrupt, stun with storm bolt, ignore pain or spell reflect when needed, mortal strike, and shatter. I feel like if we get them to be defensive we can win but if they open strong on us it may be rough.

With the new fleshcraft rework war can be viable in 1v1s.

Arms is the freest kill in the world as a feral too

As the warrior you have to end the fight quickly. We have the burst but a war of attrition is where we crumble.

yea feral eats warriors for breakfast out in the open world lol. as a rogue I can pretty much beat most warriors I come across, but they are a much tougher fight than I remembered from bfa. It requires timely stealth, cd’s etc - if I slip up half of my life is gone before I know it. however if they can’t end the fight quickly eventually I wear them out as they have little healing. but boy… they are TANKY.

As a 27% vers monk I still die in the openening stun to a good rogue if I don’t blow my trinket and port away instantly. It doesn’t get much better

Any class that has good damage and can heal will beat us, we have no sustain at all and impending victory every 30 seconds for the whopping 8000-9000 heal is not saving you!

Against Rogues, the only way I can survive is to spec Secondwind allowing me to heal to full in the blind.

Against Burst classes with heals like Druids and Pld not happening!

Warrior sucks for wpvp unless you are in a group, even in BGs if you are caught solo you are probably going to die.

gotcha… yea I guess this is a tradeoff blizzard is consciously making for arms warrior being s tier in rated content

Warriors have ALWAYS drawn the short straw when it comes to 1v1 due to lack of sustain. Pvp is never balanced around 1v1 and to measure a class or spec by performance in 1v1 is not an accurate one

I like to run impending victory and always have vial/Healthpot/cookie ready to use. Oh and remember to heal during high hp windows such as last stand or rallying cry

That maybe so, but every class in the game but Warrior has been given self healing! Why is it Warriors must be the only class without?

We have self healing in the form of victory rush, impending victory and indomitable (prot talent).

Classically speaking, warriors, mage, rogue and hunter lack self healing abilities like hybrid classes.

In wows current iteration we have self healing just not like a pally or Druid. What we lack in healing we compensate in damage so naturally arms is going to dish out some great dmg

Rogues have healing
Hunters have Healing
Mages have crazy healing with Triune
Warriors can only heal when they kill something and its only for 20%

Add to that Warrior is the ONLY class in the game that has no other damage ability. Rogues and Warriors were pure Melee DPS classes that had only Physical, bleeds and rogues poison.

Now Rogues do Shadow Damage and Arcane Damage, every class in game now uses abilities that nullifies Armor.

We overall suck. I have fun on my rogue, I heal on my druid…warrior it really all depends but if you fight a class that heals it’s gg. Priests and Paladins are immortal

I miss the old warr/rogue matchup. Closest thing to do that now is fighting a WW monk, but instead of trying to reset and go for a kill like a rogue would do they can just reset and heal to full hp…

All the more reason for Second Wind to be baseline honestly.

Also depends on gear too. If you’re going against a fully decked out warrior with all 226 and you’re not on par, then it’ll be a really tough warrior to 1v1 against.

My warrior is jank geared as he just leveled (180 with 14 vers, lmao) and I can pick people off but 1 on 1 against a level 200 even = blowing all my CDs. So no, it doesn’t feel as good as my paladin when he was the same ilevel.

But why is it balanced around every other class more or less??? The argument that pvp is not balanced over 1v1 is null and void since every other class has better utilities than a warrior in 1v1 scenarios. And what about duels??? World pvp??? shoot there are 1v1 in bg and arena!!!
