Do Warriors just suck at PvP?
During a AV match I watched from a distance as a Frost Mage kited 3 Warriors. At one point the Mage casted Blizzard. The Mage was playing like he just rounded up a herd of murlocs that he needs to AoE down. And I thought to myself “That Mage thinks that Warriors are nothing more than random mobs.” That fight motivated me to make this post.
Making this post I am fully aware that I’ll receive replies like “Warriors don’t suck at PvP…you do!” TeeHee
This week my Warrior reached Rank 10 and I’m seriously thinking about deleting him to restore my level 30 Mage with the same character name.
I made this post more for people who are thinking about rolling a warrior than anything…
This post is going to be very controversial, but here we go. Without a healer your Warrior will be garbage tier in PvP. I would even go as far as to say that by rolling a warrior you are holding your team back. Outside of Warsong Gulch where your team might need a Mortal Strike on the flag carrier I don’t see how a warrior helps at all. In Alterac Valley druids have built in shields with more dodge and most warriors run around with a 2 handed weapon or claiming to tank while dual wielding and not even being hit capped.
Any equally geared class will destroy your Warrior.
“THAT’S NOT TRUE KAINE…I DESTROY ROGUES!!!”
Do you? I mean really…do you destroy rogues? Because I don’t think there are any rogues scared to engage a warrior. A “good” rogue can make it to where the warrior is so CCed he can’t even move before he dies. Even if the Warrior is in Fury stance and uses Berserker Rage. Yes, I know to disarm and also switch to Arms for Overpower. My point is a rogue can ALWAYS reset the fight.
Also, do you have any idea how many people are immune to disarm? I’d say at least 80% of the time when I cast disarm the player is immune. When I actually disarm someone it is indeed a rare event.
What about Frost Mages? “JUST BUY FREE ACTION POTION BRO!”
You know what mages do when you use free action potion? They sheep. Now not only was the free action potion wasted, but now your potions are on cool down. Let’s say you trinkett. You know what a good mage will do? Ice block and reset the fight. Once the fight is reset Frost Nova…Frost Bolt…Frost Bolt…Frost Bolt. You intercept then the Mage Frost Novas…Blinks…Frost Bolt…Frost Bolt…Frost Bolt. It’s the most depressing fight for a Warrior.
Warlocks? A good Warlock can literally stand there in one place and tank the tank class until he’s dead.
Shadow Priest? No one beats a shadow priest. Good luck getting rage with their bubble up.
Druid? A druid can outlast you by using snares to kite, HoT, and innervate.
Paladin? A Paladin with Reckoning can do a ton of damage to the Warrior and reset the fight with Bubble.
Hunter? A good hunter will easily kite you to death if they can trinket hamstring.
Shaman? Shaman is the only fight where I feel like Warriors have a chance. If the Shaman is enhancement and has bad luck with Windfury procs the Warrior will win. Elemental Shaman is a bit trickier because it depends on how good the shaman is at kiting. However, if the Shaman is good at getting distance it is game over for the warrior. I think Elemental Shaman are the hardest hitting class in the game.
On top of all this let’s say you want to farm…well Warrior is the only class in the entire game that doesn’t have an instant cast tag button. Every instant attack a Warrior has requires rage to use. A warriors swings are on a timer so you will never be faster than another class that uses mana to cast abilities. This means that anywhere you go to farm if someone else is there you might else well leave because you will never tag the mobs faster than the other classes unless they’re really bad.
