Do u think SL will pull a Legion

From what I remember, Legion wasn’t regarded as a good expansion until the end of Nighthold when the Broken Shore came out. Do you think Shadowlands will follow this pattern?

For me, the Suramar questline was fun and I loved the city, so I didn’t consider it a poor start to the expansion at all. I guess the RNG legendary thing was a little weird but to be fair I don’t like legendaries in general.

I left the game at the end of cataclysm, so I missed out on Legion. It’s one of my favorite expansions to level through though. I can’t imagine how anyone thought it was bad… but then it completely boggles me that GD claims Shadowlands is bad. In-game, people seem to love it though. So I dunno. GD is the only place I ever see anyone speak negatively about it.

No, it will not.

It may just be my impression but I don’t think the general level of unrest was nearly as high during early Legion. Opinions were a lot more mixed, whereas with Shadowlands there’s a stronger negative tilt.

am hoping it pulls a wod and they start pushing the next xpac faster.

I dunno about any of that, but 9.1 better bring big content tbh

It has the chance too. It’s already better than BFA, so I’d say it’s not going down that route at least… :fearful:

Truly, It all depends on Blizzard and their willingness to actually fix Shadowlands problems or continue to ignore them and pretend everything is okay. Or do what they did in BFA and continually make things worse.

We won’t know, until we know more about 9.1 and that probably won’t be for a bit.

This costs less in the short term. This is why they will always choose that path.

I’d agree with you, but I feel BFA is an example of the exact opposite. :eyes:

They spend money and made it worse. But I suppose with Classic servers they don’t even need to do that anymore. :man_shrugging:

SL is alright, but I really did have more fun in BfA. I only played legion from 7.3, so I never saw it when it was supposedly bad, but I loved that patch, it was one of the most fun times I have had in wow. Levelling all the classes to try and get all the mage towers was such a blast.

That’s the expansion that was pre-celebrated with massive lay-offs to quality assurance and other WoW assets.

They ignored the problems SO hard that people lost jobs.

Gotta make sure the board makes as much money as possible no matter what though.

It’s the American way! (No matter what gets ruined. Hell, it’s the plot of Wall Street.)

imho no. i think this expac just gone to hell.

too much systems that were complained about prior to its release. they didn’t listen only thing they can do is funnel resources over time to help ease the grind but still if your playing throughout the entire expac you already put the work in it will mostly only benefit people wanting to play alts or people hoping back in after a long break or who are new.

but to also come off from what BfA was which imo was mostly hated by the players then to have SL possibly similar then idk. i would highly assume subs will go down/less sales for the next expac unless they are banking on a ton of resubs/subs for TBC release which is already expected.

if looking at retail alone naw i dont think it got a chance tbh but who knows.

I loved almost everything about Legion at the start. (Hardcore players complained about their BiS legendaries not dropping right away.)

On the contrary, I remember a lot of complaints about the timegated Broken Shore campaign quest chain (a really simple kill or fetch quest every week for weeks on end), but I was doing it on 12 toons, so I didn’t mind doing it little by little.

Legion’s content patches were about 3 months apart from each other. This one could be four if they keep up with the current pace. So it depends on how fast they get out stuff and how much content is in it. 9.1 doesn’t seem to have much. Unless the covenant renown stuff has a lot in it.

Legion was complained about in the beginning but turned things around with fixing class halls, lessening the artifact power grind over time, adding more content, etc.

The legendaries, they took a bit longer to fix. And that was a real problem for a lot of people. But overall it was a pretty well received expac.

Legion was actually great at first. The broken shore was awful, but the raid was amazing.

SL could pull a Legion and the forums would still be entirely filled with hate and vitriol for it.

I know, because the forums never stopped being that way during any point of Legion.
The forums were like that in Wrath too.
