Do the rest of you do this, or am I just a weirdo?

Sometimes I see people standing around town or a popular crowded area doing things for attention…

Like hopping around on a rare mount, or emoting while showing off their impressive transmog, or even just showing off a cool pet they collected.

Regardless of what they’re showing off, I LOVE to make sure to say something like “Wow that’s a cool mount!” or “That transmog looks awesome!” because I feel like it makes their whole day and it makes me smile.

The holidays can be one of the loneliest time of year for some people, and a little extra kindness or attention in-game for some people can make their whole day.

The other day I saw someone in /1 general chat mention that it was their Birthday 4 times in the span of 10 minutes. No one said anything. So I went to the auction house, picked out a cute pet, some rare cosmetics for xmogs, and a little bakery cake and sent them a Happy Birthday card with the items in the mail. My heart melted thinking about how excited they were going to be when the mail was delivered.

Okay I’m done being a cornball, I just was curious if anyone else does stuff like this?

/em does the wild thing and humps your leg!

/em cat pees in your shoes.

I do this too. Almost no one responds. Maybe 2 or 3 out a hundred.

I did this at the end of SL in Oribos. Makes me think everyone is a robot.

I emoted /love, /booping, /cheering, /strong, etc.

Used to do similar, until I got an email response saying something like “Hey thanks for this, while you’re spending gold can you get me X?” I try to stay away from cities now.

I sometimes /mountspecial on my Highland Drake, but that’s because I like the animations and sounds it has.
Though I did recently become True Friends with Wrathion and got the black scale color for it…

That’s really cool of you to do that. It bothers me when someone says it’s a day for them, birthday or whatever and no one notices or acknowledges it.

In BfA, I’d get on my druid, be in bird form and sit on the Zuldazar mailbox and tell people to check their mail.

Not for any particular reason, just to do something. Sometimes they would and then they’d say “there’s nothing there.”
So I’d tell them to check back again, there will be. I never sent them anything though, was just playing averages.

That’s cornball, I think.

When I want attention I just do it the healthy way.

I post a very vague ominous post on Facebook until someone asks if I’m OK.

As god intended

That’s really nice of you. I am a hermit and keep to myself so I don’t do that, but I don’t think you’re weird for doing it. You probably have brightened someone’s day.

Rarely but so this is so far and beyond for any player of the WoW community to do something like this. I mean, its hard to ACTUALLY believe this because of how amazing this is to do for anyone but we all really hope so.

Though the Tmog compliments aren’t as rare as you think, given if you’re on RP servers, I get those quite a bit. xP

Though overall, it is very nice of you to go out of your way. So, yes, you’re a weirdo but a pleasant weirdo. =3

I do this sometimes as well. Sometimes I even get a response…

It’s good of you for even trying.

Nope I am not that desperate plus anytime I’m in an area with others I just ignore them like they are NPCs.

I guess I am weird.

About a month ago I took all my armor off and hopped up on the mailbox in the Valley of Honor (RP area) in Org and started to dance.

Made about 1500g for an hour of dancing. I do not need the gold but I guess it made some players happy. I later gave that 1500g to a new player I found in Eversong Woods.

I might do that again, sometime.

Giving me flashbacks to how I earned my epic ground mount in Vanilla…

D’aww shucks’ 🥹

That’s nice of you but no I don’t do that. I have things to do, not look at TCG mounts or of the like I can’t get.

I either get them to confess their sins or hit them with a turkey gun
