Do the mobs hit harder?

Ive got a 60 Druid in Hardcore, 2 Druids in WOTLK who rarely die and Im at 20 on my SOD Druid with 16 death…

Less HP + Fewer Abilities - copious amounts of ezmode WotLK skills = omega death in Classic/SoD

They were balanced around the new runes. They definitely hit harder. It makes grinding more than a mob a scary thing.

Supposedly, but it does want really feel like it.

I don’t feel like I have died more, but now you got me curious. I must test things!

edit: Update: I immediately got bored and will not be testing anything.

Devs explicitly said they increased mob damage

I agree and yes I feel something is off. While the last time on SoD. I was a lev 20 warrior and went into a teen area… I was being beating to death by the lower levels… So clearly something is off. But again doesn’t help when the respawn rate is set higher than normal. This is just Blizzard’s way of stress testing us because we’re on a test realm.

No, you just don’t have ridiculous quest rewards feeding you gear itemized for you with scaling that actually works with built-in sustain and longevity skills to make leveling easy and fun.

The stats under the hood in Vanilla leave us very vulnerable compared to any other iteration of WoW.

That and mob scaling in SOD. Each level a mob goes up gains a % increase in HP. Level 60 mobs have 500-600% more HP than Vanilla. Just the regular mobs then Elites have additional health. So just even questing latter we will have to do 5-6 times the damage of Vanilla.

I’m not sure Mob damage is increased. I think it’s more that Mobs have significantly more HP so when you pull multiple mobs you are just hit more if your damage isn’t where it should be to take on the higher HP.

Oh is that a thing from Season of Mastery? I never played it…

So…the quest rewards in Hardcore are EXACTLY the same as SOD, so that point is moot.

And its not just the HP pools. I fought a 19 murloc at 20 and within the first 4 seconds I was at half health…was like wth. BUT for the most part I will admit I can usually kill a mob pretty quickly without worrying about my healh, just seemed to me they hit harder.

Mobs have more health and damage. You can see for yourself. Hogger for example is notorious for having 666 HP. In SoD he has 789 HP. Stitches has 12,600 HP on era. Here he has over 18k hp.

Oh yea SOD isn’t Vanilla. With the new builds from Runes, new Tier, Epics we do more damage. So Mobs have to be adjusted.

Take for example the level 25 Epic staff from BFD it’s stronger than Staff of Jordan a lvl 35 required item. Then next phase we get more Runes and have the Gnomer Raid, new items/tier.

I don’t have any concrete data on increased damage. It would make sense though that is increased as well.

Yea the higher the level mob the more % health it gets. So our damage is gonna be lit latter.

I hadn’t realized they adjusted mobs like that. No wonder my Rogue felt slow when leveling despite having access to a significantly harder hitting ability like Saber Slash.

Funnily enough my Warlock doesn’t feel slow AT ALL, quite the opposite. Haunt is broken as can be at early levels.

Yea cause Haunt and Runes scale with Player level. Saber Slash scales with mostly attack power. Wait till you see Boomy Starsurge at early level you 1 shot everything. It’s suggested as a level 20 rune (in wetlands) but you can death run over there early and get it.

Some abilities are broken early but even out latter and then some take off with gear for Melee as they get stats.
