Do the devs play?

Genuine question. Do any of the devs play the game?

Some do, but I really do not think the team assigned to develop the new UI features plays this game. It is so non functional, missing basic features anyone who plays the game would know to add that it is really obvious.

I think the game would be in a better place if they did.

Genuinely don’t think Ion plays anymore.

He had an Orc Shaman back in the day.

Definitely questionable regarding how they are treating combat lately, and how it feels to play.

Judging by how the UI is updated and the Personal Resource bar is once again worthless.

No.

lmao.

I agree. Also, I wonder if “he” is even real, or maybe he’s an AI bot

Similiar issue with DDH. It’s quite clear that the dev never played this spec outside training dummy and MAYBE doing endgame with max level gear in a controlled setting. even that second one seems unlikely because they would’ve felt how unfair and punishing losing CS from things outside your control is.

The developers do but the people calling all the shots and setting the release dates not only do they not play the game they don’t involve themselves in the development process at all.

Sounds kind of crazy doesn’t it? But it’s how it is :man_shrugging:

I bet your face reeks of shat sticking it so far up blizzard/Microsoft’s behind.

Is English your second language or something because my last post just bashed the company. I didn’t defend them in any way. I also said nothing that wasn’t true. Have you ever worked in the video gaming industry? I’ve worked in it since the 90s.

I will tell you that about 5 or 6 years ago upper management used to be involved in the development process. Nowadays they have no involvement whatsoever have no idea how far along the development process truly is and basically just sending a board room setting release dates that satisfy quarterly quotas. When the devs actually see the release dates their eyes pop out of their head and say to themselves my God there’s no way it’s going to be ready.

Basically it’s all about the $$$

You’re a liar

Riiight. I see you have never worked it a day in the real world either because this is true in just about any company nowadays.

Marketing teams and board members do not talk to their on the ground floor workers really at all anymore. Those days are gone. You can work for any Corporation and quickly learn the other departments properly talk to each other when they should be communicating constantly.

You just know that Ion has to be rolling over in his office chair over OBR, 3 button classes, and a broken UI.

This is the guy who suppressed casual content and housing for a decade so that the focus could remain on high-end PVE combat.

I suspect this is a living nightmare for him much in the same way as what Metzen is experiencing working with the new narrative team.

The easy answer is “no, they do not” - but even IF they DO play? It’s like 1 hours per week at best.

The state of this patch is not indicative of game devs who actually play the game.

Blizzard provides an account to employees as an employee perk. They’re probably under a lot of stress at work. They work long hours and have long commutes. I kind of doubt more than a tiny percentage are playing regularly. And none of them apparently are playing seriously enough to have recognized the catastrophe that demogrifying 25 million characters would turn out to be.

This has already been addressed on PTR and will be coming live. You don’t need to post about it anymore. CS will consume after the cast finishes.

i remember seeing ion’s parses in shadowlands but im not sure if his character shows up on wcl anymore

Yes some decently well though on the wow forums if your not method your terrible

At this point I doubt it.

with their low wages that blizz micro pays them cant afford to even buy the game probably.
