Do Tauren Hunters get extra ranged and less of a dead zone?

Seeing as they have an extra melee range do they have less of a deadzone? Or extra range than other Hunter classes. Anyone able to test this in the beta?

yes they do.

Iirc their deadzone is the same size just further out, and range is a little longer too. Basically it just pushes everything out further. It is a downfall against other hunters in pvp as you will be within their range but they will be in your deadzone.

How big is the diffrence??

I think it’s 7-10 yards instead of 5-8 but I could be wrong. I’m not entirely sure for tauren.

Each link I see adjusts the tauren range very slightly.

What was it 1-2 yards of extra melee? So their deadzone is still 3 yards but its further out. Meaning an ally hunter could stand in a taurens deadzone but still be able to range attack.

Granted I am not positive but I believe that is how it works, not 100% I may be wrong. Like completely wrong.

No, that is how it works. It also worked for melee, so you could hit them more easily than others of the same class. For hunters it’s arguably the worst for PvP as it means they can reach your dead zone more easily, but then at the same time it’s easier to hit them with Wing Clip where they can’t hit you back. It doesn’t change top range so it’s not important there.

It could also theoretically be good for PvE, as you can melee weave while maintaining more distance to the boss.

I was honestly wonder about how the whole tauren range thing would play out. They didn’t fix it until BC. I heard that before the fix that in arenas 2 tauren could melee eachother through pillars! I played mostly Alliance though.

Not really sure how you can classify this interaction. Like is it intended or not? If it’s intended should it be considered a racial and added to spellbook so that it becomes more common knowledge? They fixed it in BC but was it ever an actual bug or a racial nuance?

Well, it’ll be fine either way honestly. It wasn’t actually a huge deal outside of select instances. Better in PvE, worse in PvP.

No. The larger models mean that everything is further out. Your maximum melee range, minimum shooting range and maximum shooting range are all further out.

This means that your deadzone is the same as other races but will be further out, which means that your melee+deadzone range is larger than anyone else.

The interesting part about taurens is that larger models allow targeted abilties to hit you from further away but not AoE abilities. A warrior will hit you from further away because you are larger, but a mage will have trouble getting a frost nova off while staying in the deadzone.

That’s what I thought. Basically their circle is larger, so everything is pushed further out. Sucks against other hunters in PvP though.

Will suck against other hunters but seems it will be good against every other class.
