Do race/gender changed characters feel weird to you?

Thinking of changing this girl to a male belf now that the tough /forthehorde is back!

Have you changed any of your toons to another gender or race? Does is feel weird playing them knowing they were something else before?

A character is a character. If there’s a reason for the change it doesn’t feel weird.

For instance, I racechanged my Draenei Paladin to LFDraenei. It doesn’t feel weird because that’s entirely within the realm of possibilities, as we saw T’paartos do the same in-game.

it was a little weird at first having my fem-taur warrior go male undead but it was well worth it. got a great name and everything. much improved imo. i hardly ever think about it though. :x

I changed my troll priest from female to male because I hated the way she plodded when she ran. Plus his casting is cooler looking.

Didn’t bother me, in fact I had forgotten that I did it until I read the headline of this post. Didn’t even change the name. Nupotatohere works for boy or girl trolls.

I’ve changed my spriest from Undead to Human, then to Void Elf. For me it only felt weird for a few hours, but I soon forget that he was ever anything else

Good point, maybe she’ll be like me

I wouldn’t know about gender swapping a character my one female character was made to be female, though I did race change her due to wanting to create a different rp character without having to start at level 1. As far as any other race changes i did those either to get an achievement my guild or I needed or for RP reasons.

I dunno…I haven’t tried feeling them yet.

I feels weird at first, but unless you dislike the change, you get used to it.

I have a Male BElf DK, myself. Used to be a Female DK with a terrible name.

Most of the time I forget he was ever a Female OOC.

I’ve race changed a few times back then. It was always fun because their whole look changed so you can do new things with your old character. :slightly_smiling_face: though I did often end up missing something about how it was before anyways. So it’s not weird, just changes the way you see and mog your character (in my experience).

I know how you feel. I changed my Tauren druid to a Troll druid when they came out because the Troll druids had cooler forms.

Best reason ever.

This character originated as a Human Male, later turned into a Worgen Female, and is now a Void Elf Female.

Nope. I always make the character I want. I’ve never changed race, gender, name or anything (no desire to, so it isn’t about the money.)

I race-changed once (gnome–>human) when starting Legion Pathfinder-2 on my rogue, just to get the 10% faster Rep grind. I did the same thing on 2 hunters in BFA, for the same reason (human 10% racial). After 8.1.5 launched, I faction-changed those 2 hunters, to transfer rep to Horde as part of unlocking the 2 Horde BFA allied races. When I changed both of them back to Alliance, I looked at the models and decided I liked the human models better than their original races.

I have never gender-changed a character. SInce I “play my toons” rather than “play AS my toons”, gender doesn’t matter to me. All that matters is “do I mind looking at this toon, from the rear, for hundreds of hours of gameplay”. The result is that, though I play every race, most of my toons are female. They look better.

At the end of Legion I had 34 max-level toons, 2 of them male. Now I have 37 toons, 5 of them male. I don’t notice any difference.

Note: while doing a race-change, you can switch genders for free.

I’ve never played a male toon but back in WoD I changed all my toons to dwarves. I loved being a dwarf but being Alliance was really weird and I couldn’t get over it. Very expensive mistake.

Male belf /forthehorde is awful though.

He like whispers it in a slightly annoyed/sarcastic tone.

My demon hunter here shouts it with viscous pride that would make an orc stand at attention.

Do those exist? I’ve never seen one.

All joking aside, no. I’ve changed the race of a few of mine over the years, and no, they don’t feel different.

I change what races my chars are not infrequently and no, it doesn’t feel weird.

It never feels weird to change something into something you want. After years of waiting for Blizz to stop lying and make good on their promises to update the Worgen models, I finally changed my Worgen DK to a Dwarf and got the Bronzebeard heritage armor for him. Never looked back.

Now when they finally do update the Worgen models and true to form they end up like all their unfinished garbage AR’s, I will be able to laugh about it.

Lost track of how many times this toon has changed race and gender. So no, doesn’t bother me. I just enjoy the new racials and animations.
