I have been recently running through some old content to work on reputations, and I noticed that there are some quests I can do again - but not any daily quests.
For example:
- Gol’Bolar Quarry in Dun Morogh - I remember there are 3 quests there, and I did them all when I was leveling. Now I go back and see one of them available for re-do.
- Resuplying the Excavation in Loch Modan - i have done this before and now this quest is available for me again at level 120.
… and there are. more.
Any ideas? Do quests expire? Or did Bliz changed these quests since I did them few years back and re-flagged them as not yet done? Or something else? Anybody knows?
Don’t know if it applies to your specific situation but when Cata was released, quite a few quests were assigned different quest ID’s which would have flagged them as uncompleted in your character records.
As far as dailies not appearing, some require you to gain a certain level of rep before a particular daily becomes available. Wowhead usually is a good source of info for that info.
I have also had an issue n the past where a quest tracker I was using had options for displaying certain types of quests and I had the display of daily quests turned off by accident.
Quests don’t expire, but as Nok said, some events (like the Cata revamp) can effectively “reset” them.
For a long while after Cata came out the breadcrumbs for Wetlands were exclusive with a random quest in Duskwood due to a bug. I think that’s been fixed, but it’s always possible that some behinds the scene bug fix could cause a quest to reset.
I also know that there is (or at least use to be — I haven’t checked recently) a quest in Teldrassil that for some odd reason got flagged as a weekly quest and so will reappear each week. (The Emerald Dreamcatcher I think?) I’m not aware of that happening with any Dun Morogh/Loch Modan quests, but who knows.
