Do people still buy/sell names?

I had a few rare names in game in tichondrius and zul’jin and I was wondering if selling or buying names was still a thing with gold?

Probably, but it’s a pretty niche market so I wouldn’t be surprised if it took a while to find buyers.

I’m sure that there are still people who do this, but it’s completely unsupported. Which means, if the deal goes south, Blizzard will not get involved and will only look into whether or not a scam took place.

Additionally, names on characters level 30 or higher are locked to the battle.net account that they’re on upon deletion and become available on a first-come-first-served basis to everyone.

So if you delete a character, and assuming you don’t save the name on a new low-level alt, the name then becomes available to whoever gets it first in exactly 30 days (down to the minute) of when it was deleted.

Names on character level 29 and lower become available instantly (more or less) and are not reserved.

Lastly, depending on the name, it may also be grandfathered in. Meaning, if a name has been added to a list of unusable character names but you already have it, it will be unusable if you delete the character and try to snag it again, even on your own account.

Hope that information helps!

Going to be harder now I would think. With cross realm guilds and raiding you can find a server where your desired name is free but still run with your guild.
