I’ve seen some people say this before, but I’m wondering do people actually believe this would happen?
I am hoping not.
There are people in this forum that believe far, far stranger things lol
I would probably say no, as it would take away a key feature that grants accessibility to those who do not have a ton of free time
No, there Is still a sizeable portion of the WoW community who simply does not want to raid.
And for the people who enjoy doing LFR for the tier sets, gear, to see the story… maybe some of them would move to normal but I would bet that the majority of them would just stop raiding altogether because raiding outside of LFR is just such a waste of time:
- Joining a guild and committing a specific interval of time every single week, possibly on multiple days
Or
- Sit in LFG and wait for a raid group to fill for however long it takes and then sit in LFG again after one wipe and people leave.
Are you assuming that no one would start raiding if LFR was removed? Because that seems equally far-fetched.
I used to raid heroic back in the day. A combination of life, health, time, and mental issues, i cannot seem do do it anymore.
If LFR is removed, I gurantee you I most likely won’t raid ever again.
That may change depending on how I feel, but that’s pretty much where I’m at.
Removing it would be pointless
well, they can believe whatever they want…still wouldn’t make me even WANT to do it.
While i do believe that LFR being added to the game was a mistake, trying to remove it now would be a terrible move.
There was a time at the end of WOTLK when WoW had a thriving pug scene and thousands of family friendly guilds, they didn’t always do so well, many of them ran ICC and failed at PP or thereabouts, but it was pretty easy to get into a run like this on a new alt, you’d just show up to Dalaran, someone would inspect you to see you were gemmed and enchanted and then off you’d go.
I believe that had flex mode existed at the start of Cata, things would have gone very differently, as it was, the community suffered a massive shock to the system going from the pug friendly nature of the end of WOTLK to the very punishing start of Cata and people fled in droves, LFR being added was a reaction to this mass exodus but it was like putting a poorly made band aid on a gunshot wound.
nah it has it’s place.
This absolutely kills it for me. I really just want to do this stuff with my friends but I don’t have 23 other people I can call a friend. They’re all pugs.
What a strange question. Can you please elaborate? “Raid” is in the title “Looking for Raid,” so therefore those who participate in LFR are already raiding, are they not?
I think most LFR raiders wouldn’t move up to normal.
It’s based on a subjective standard that, because the LFR feature is tuned differently, it’s therefore not “hard” enough to be like real raiding.
Though, that doesn’t hold up to even the most miniscule of scrutany because LFR is by definition raid group content for a raid group.
Most of it is people clutching their pearls and feeling elitist even though normal really isn’t that hard to begin with. It’s a goofy argument no matter what.
I see more players leaving the raiding scene altogether rather than be forced into other content they would rather not do.
I am sure some would move up, but I believe the majority would opt-out.
I doubt it… LFR is the end game for many and they aren’t interested in organized raiding.
Personally, I simply don’t have the time for organized raiding anymore. It isn’t just the time of actually raiding. It is cultivating friendships, getting involved in a raid team, working to move from an alternate list to the active list, gathering reagents and raid supplies, etc… Because let’s be honest no one wants to choose a feral druid for their raid team when building a pick up group.
Heck, I gave up even looking for a guild in Legion after years of trying. Most on my server have too many hoops to jump through.
Would be the latter for me, I don’t play group content outside of queueable things (normal/heroic dungeons, LFR and random battlegrounds), and sometimes non-mythic+ dungeons with guild, but if LFR was taken away I would simply not raid.
I believe removing LFR would decrease the raid population even more due to players not being able to practice the raids beforehand by using the queuing system before trying to find a raid group to join. The same goes for Mythic+, mythic 0’s should really have a que system like LFR with no weekly lockout so new/casual players can practice mythic+ before trying to find groups as well so they can be comfortable learning.
If LFR was removed, there’d be a fire on the forums.
No. My opinion is this, the pestilential, pustulant, syphilitic, lazy design, toxicity promoting, cancer called m+ in it’s current form, should not exist in WoW, and in no way should it be promoted or made easier or be a more attractive option than regular group content. The best gear should ONLY be available through raiding and trade skills.
Under no circumstances should m+, an abysmal attempt at turning WoW into an esport for which is absolutely unsuited, be promoted in it’s current form. If some changes were made to this cancer to reduce the toxic gogogo rushrushrush attitude, it would at least be tolerable.
And no, less people would raid, or even play WoW if LFR was removed. Adding LFR was a wise move on ActiBlizz’s part, removing would, like trying to remove flying, be a disaster of epic proportions.
Semper Fi!
I agree with this.
