Do people really flask for every raid?

IF so, how the heck do they afford it? On my server, a Flask goes for around 210g. Each. I don’t think I have ever had that much on my 60.

Yes. The people that flask every week spend the entire week farming raid mats, running instances, gathering resources etc. I have 6 or 7 toons myself that all have their mounts. Only 1 has an elite mount though. With that being said, even if you just ran a couple lvl 60 instances a day for a week, you’ll make 100-200 g from the instance in a week. Get a lucky boe drop and you won the lottery.

ugh no thanks! glad my guild doesnt care about such things!

That’s incorrect. The people who flask every week are the ones who had the foresight to prepare for the explosion in price. Nobody really needs to flask for this content, but some people want to parse well or speed run. It’s not a requirement, and it’s honestly kind of weird seeing how obsessed people are over the issue.

That’s incorrect. About 1/2 my guild didn’t farm mats up in advance and we go week by week.

most runs have tanks reserving all non-needed gear. Would took few hours to find a group without unrolls

I don’t have issues with that on this server. A single item might be reserved here or there though.

It’s not very hard to flask every raid when you yourself personally control the black lotus market.
That said, smart guilds that actually are acquiring enough resources to flask every raid are only using flask of the titans on the tanks. The extra 1200 hp is a very nice buffer, but extra damage or +max mana doesn’t change how the game is played right now.
Having every person of a 40 man flask is just stupid. Maybe 5 people flask, that’s about it.

Yeah. There isn’t even a warrior/rogue/hunter/feral druid dps flask in existence.

Only casters and tanks really benefit from them at all.

Flasking will never be the thing that makes of breaks progression or clears. The most impactful flask person is the tank, as it gives them a larger health buffer to not die.

what is this Flask thing you speak of?

You won’t need to flask for anything outside of Naxx maybe, unless you are dead set on pushing parses

Flasking now is a waste of time. We’re saving ours for Naxx, bet we wont even need them.

People don’t need to flask, it’s not necessary in this content.

It’s not if you have one character or eight. Though I’d begin to question the amount of free time people have at some point. Think of the average player of this game not the people on the end of the bell curve.

This content does not require a flask for any reason.

Obsession is the perfect word for it too because it implies the negatives that we see from these folks when we strip their buffs. They absolutely lose their :poop:, which is why it’s so fun to do.

I see your realm are not filled with reserve-everything tanks.

My guild has a weekly fee for everyone who raids BWL, 15G each which covers flasks for tanks, and the gold is made up in BWL. You’re still out the gold, but since the full BWL clear essentially makes the gold back (and a little more if you aren’t wiping like crazy) it’s an easier pill to swallow.

We’re planning to pull back on flasks though, but not sure when and the cover fee will likely continue to help us stock up as they’ll only get more and more expensive as they feel more and more “required” with harder content.

Otherwise getting some basic consumables isn’t too bad, but YMMV based on your IRL situation. I have been leveling a warlock with herb/alch so I have gotten better at making my own consumables and just having something to help push damage.

A lot of my melee guildies like to go all-in on the world buffs and consumables. I opt for a bit more middle road and getting stuff that’s easier/cheaper/less time consuming. I did, for the first time ever, go all in for our BWL clear since DMF was in town and got everything but songflower, and it’s pretty fun if threat isn’t an issue, but it usually is and it results in you having to throttle your DPS so much where one crazy WF proc or something can result in death anyways. A guildie got triple WF crit proc on the way to the first MC boss and got deleted for it. And then I got deleted on Magmadar because I didn’t throttle enough before execute phase and went all in.

But my favorite story is how one time I was running late to MC so when I was making my run to BRM a lock tried to gank me and dwindled me all the way down to 50HP, but I lived. I sure showed him.

…until I ran into MC, immediately pulled the trash trying to do the wall jump, wasted shield wall on running out and then dying to the DoT debuff. But that warlock will never know that.

Blessing of Salvation is nice on ally for this. Can’t wait for baron to drop his stupid binding finally so we can have that thunderfury proc as well.
