Timewalking is up and so is Timewalking Black Temple raid, you can queue for it at the Timewalking vendor in Shattrath.
Does anyone know if people do this? Or is it just demon hunters queuing up? I have the glaives and want to be able to transmog them. Wondering what type of queue time I am looking at!

I mean assuming it still drops normal raid gear, then prob not since it’s an epic waste of time. Cypher gear is just as powerful and way more plentiful. Plus BT takes a long time and with no guarantee the group is even going to make it.

And actually, I think you have to assemble an entire group yourself before you queue, which I will not be doing myself any time soon. So probably, nevermind this thread. xD
I’ve done it for the Warglaives xmog.
I’m assuming people either do it for the experience of BT or the 500 badges.

I thought BT would drop 252 ilvl gear? Isn’t Cypher gear only 233ish?
Not that ilvl always = power by any means
Yes you do and someone has to be at the NPC to queue (not that big a deal).
TWing raids are a good idea but just badly implemented. They need to be literal faceroll easy and something anyone can jump into anytime. Like literally even mid boss fight and ideally something the game is smart enough to find you groups on bosses you haven’t killed yet for subsequent runs.
And even then it still probably isn’t worth the time.

I didn’t have any issues finding a group when I did it a while back. Even if people are doing it for the warglaive mog you can do it on any class, doesn’t need to be a DH or the character you got the warglaives on.
I think you also just need to kill illidan so you might get really lucky and find a group that’s stuck on illidan that you can sneak into.
Cypher gear goes up to 252 and with flying, getting cyphers is pretty quick. Easy to farm several hundred per hour without even really trying.

Ahhh if you continuously upgrade it
Sorry, I’m multitasking a lot this morning between here and work lol. I should probably focus on work right now
Thank you for this info, good to know. I have the warglaives on my rogue, I thought you had to run the TW raid on your Demon Hunter to be able to mog them. Maybe I will attempt to put together a group as a healer some time this week.
- You can’t queue (solo) for TW raids. You have to assemble a premade to get a queue to pop. They work just like heroic warfronts.
- The ilvl from TW raids is trash. Even as a catch-up system. Its far more effective and effecient to do ZM for 252 cypher gear. Plus you can farm relics for tier gear.
- The 500 TW token quest is laughable. It might be worth doing for 1k tokens…maybe. 2k tokens is probably the realistic amount you would have to offer.
Frankly if it wasn’t for the warglaives mog, I don’t think anyone would do TW BT.

You’re not wrong about that!
Do people do any of the TW’ing raids? What do we even have now? BT, Ulduar, and Firelands?
There’s no reward that seems worth the time to do these raids. They need to seriously bump up the TW’ing badge reward or maybe make a recolor of the armor sets that are in each respective raid (or buy them with TW’ing badges)? I could see myself doing Ulduar or BT for some recolored tier sets lol.
I just think there’s no reason they shouldn’t have some sort of unique reward for doing them.

I did it once to get the transmog for my DH, that’s it.
Exactly. TW raids do not work as a catch-up system. Not when you take into account wipes and drop rates and the time sink. There’s just no point.
About the only thing I can think of is that it’s for the “fun” of it. And if that’s your jam, then more power to you. But I doubt the vast majority of the player base wants to run them for that.
I know blizz will never make the ilvl gear competitive. But tripling the amount of TW tokens from the quest is easy low hanging fruit for them. Or new transmog as you say.
We did ulduar the first time open in SL. All fun and games till the boss with the mana debuff made me switch to my bear.
I’d rather they take TW raids in the other direction. Make them available permanently and keep the challenge intact with scaling. A certain other MMO has proven that people will and do have an interest in experiencing “old content as it was”, but it needs to be something people can do on their own time, at their own pace. The reason no one does TW raids right now is because you only have a week to do it.
You can’t replicate the raids as they were because of fundamental changes to classes/specs. Over time, our characters baseline power and capabilities have only grown over time despite people whining and complaining about abilities being trimmed.

Obviously it’s not going to be perfect. But it can still be fun. >_>
