Just putting it out there because I know that people are complaining about queue times in solo shuffle. Maybe something like healer specific titles, transmogs or mounts? Rewards could be based on victories or rating so that they are in it to win.
Not sure about all that, but some extra conquest/gold/consumables from the new boxes would be fine.
Currently they do award more conquest honor for healers. Although I don’t know how many people are aware of that.
Gold /consumables seems like something that might keep healers more engaged (i.e. play more times per week), but I wonder if we actually need more people that are willing to heal. I think something more substantial might be needed to get people to take the plunge.
I tend to play MW more then ww for funsies, but going 5/0 and having someone leave and getting no rating means I’m not playing until leavers are punished or people who stay get their due rating.
They need to figure out a way to make healing more rewarding and fun. It’s not fun as a new healer to watch your DPS run in and get 1 shot by a million different modifiers that you have .5s to react to and then have those same DPS yell at or degrade a new healer tends to turn them off from even attempting to learn or play a healer.
Put this into consideration as well as the fact that imo most healers are just boring as hell. Rdruid is actively rewarded for NOT playing the game in a 3v3 setting and was (or potentially still is) just a spec to outlive the opposing healers mana bar and the best way of doing that is to AFK 40 yards away from the enemy and your team and get as many drinks as possible.
The relative lack of healer participation is because of how awful it feels to be a healer in a world where people die from 100 in a global, through defensives.
It’s not any more complicated than that.
I thoroughly enjoy healing on my priest, druid, and monk for the most part, but these Shadowlands damage profiles suck quite a bit of fun out of it.
You know what would be an amazing incentive to play heals in arenas of any kind? Having raid style party frames actually work so I can see the debuffs on my teammates as well as not having to move my mouse to the far-left top corner of my screen when using mouseover.
Idk about the debuff thing or if there’s a way to change that but you can unlock and move the raid frames around your screen if you click the arrow thats by them, unlock it, and then you can move it and set it where you want.
Yep, but I don’t want to move my raid frames, I want the raid style party frames to work, which hasn’t worked in the several months that I’ve been on beta and has about a million posts from tons of players asking why it’s not working.
I gotcha. I also forgot that we’re now in DF and you have to use edit mode to move everything. Def not used to it yet.
For beginners make healers have a greater impact again.
On rdruid 9 out of 10 times I’m bored or feel that my actions won’t affect the outcome. As example if one player is low geared I basically don’t have to bother trying to win when said player is on my side. The result will always be 3:3. A minor 20% damage reduction in form of ironbark will never save anybody that has been singled out and zeroed in by the two enemy dps.
Might be different for healers with party immunities but eh.
The problem isn’t the rewards, the problem is that it isn’t fun to play healers in solo shuffle, its easily my least favorite healing experience in pvp.
I think agency is a concise way of putting it. Agency over the survival of their teammates. Last season I went into a shuffle for some honor/conquest on my alt Warrior and was paired with one of the highest rdruids in NA, and even they couldn’t keep some of the people in the match up.
Maybe it’s a concern of healers being able to keep people alive forever. We went from pool noodle fights in BFA to knife fights in SL.
I’ve enjoyed it on rsham. It seemed like a neat way to kind of spam out games and learn the role with the benefit of detachment from your teammates.
Gear me out.
Make healers unkillable but nerf their heals and immune to cross stuns/heals.
This way, they only have to fight to keep people alive.
I really think it’s a gameplay thing.
Or, just make them immune to cc of all kind and nerf their output to balance it out.
It’s more of a pacing/ttk thing. The game currently incentivizes forward or aggressive play and if that isn’t properly responded to then somebody just implodes. The thing is that it can often be out of the healers hands if their teammate doesn’t react accordingly.
Instant queues versus sitting in LFG, queue, etc. forever–or just finding people to play with at all is the incentive to heal. Every role sucks somehow, healing doesn’t need made easier. lol
That’s actually true yeah benched my dk in ~6.9 seconds after realizing I would have to sit in lfg for half the night.
I can’t even get through a solo shuffle most times; a healer always leaves after somebody gets one shotted several matches in a row.
You realise it’s been back to normal for a day now. Raid style party frames are fixed and I can do all the same things from s4. I dunno how many times it’s gotta be posted.
It’s not a problem of incentives.
It’s that healing this bursty mongo meta is not a fun experience. Some turbo tunneling melee can turn half his brain off and just run at a single target no matter what and kill through defensives without even landing a kick/stun/cc and they can’t be peeled or punished.
It’s not a mystery why SoloQ participation is up but Q’s are longer.
