Do people hate rogues?

I’m 418, been looking for days for a heroic group. I really only want first boss (for chance at dagger), but know most of the mechanics of everything up to Azshara. But NO one ever invites me… should I re roll? Rogue just so fun, but pointless if I can never do anything.

There may be a couple reasons. Look at it from their point of view. A 418 rogue that hasn’t finished normal is applying. Also a 428 rogue that has heroic half finished is applying. Who would you invite?

Dps are a dime a dozen. If you don’t out gear the content it’s generally much easier to just start your own group.

Baddee is right. Folks love rogues, but PUGs are the worst. Better to find a guild and roll with them.

Rofl a rogue complaining about not being acepted, the Flavor of the Expansion complaining.

I have seen everything now.

Also group composition once in a pub we had a heap and I mean a HEAP of DH’s and Rogues for first two bosses and most of them left right after not getting weapons. So thats the other stigma you got for EP as well.

No. Rogues are super valuable in pugs, and even more so in Mythic+. You might not be invited because they either don’t want more melee or there are better ilvl people queuing.

I think Raider io now shows your raid kills when you mouse over a player now, they might see your exp and decline you. I would just find a raiding guild

Yes, people hate rogues, but that has nothing to do with getting invited to groups.
If you were any other class you’d have a harder time getting a dps spot tbh.
I’ll be honest, your keys are kind of low, and your gear is kind of whacky, though I doubt anyone is looking that close.
In PUG life, numbers are the only thing that matter. Your ilvl, your number of kills on a boss, and now your IO score.
Your best bet is to find a guild with decent raid times, join up, get a few kills under your belt, and bail if you’re not really looking to commit to a regular raid team.

Pretty much what Swineflew said.

  1. When pugging for raids, generally (but not always) you’re looking for the most geared/farthest progressed applicants first. While I do think a lot of PUGs have ridiculous requirements (AOTC required for their normal run, 435 ILVL for a heroic run, etc), you also can’t blame them when they’re trying to clear the raid. The only thing that Swineflew forgot to mention is this: You’re a melee dps. Even playing as a rogue, you are a dime-a-dozen, every guild group usually has plenty of melee dps. Ranged generally get preference in pugs. If you want to be accepted in every pug, play Warlock. I know that’s not exactly helpful, but it’s the truth: there’s a reason why every guild generally is recruiting ranged dps.

  2. For M+ you’re the most desired class, but nobody is going to take a chance on someone with no IO score on a higher key. You want to do 10s and above, you either have to have proven yourself in the previous season so your IO links it, or you have to slum lower keys to build you IO that way. You can circumvent this by making groups with friends or guild mates.
