I liked BC’s lore and sci-if twist. It BLEW MY MIND back in the day, reminded me of the Might and Magic series. (The original games before Heroes, much more of a sci fi blend. You even ended the game fighting robots in a hi-tech pyramid with swords and sorcery).
That plus the quest structure and unlocking of flight and the game’s first ridable dragons… man. Good times. It will probably be my favorite forever
The Gnomeregan gnews gnetwork videos they made for TBC and the trailer for flight were really funny too…I’m a bit disappointed they didn’t keep making stuff like that.
I found when starting a new toon is to do the intro legion content. IT gives you a nice ring and the artifact weapons is good till about 20. After you get your weapon head to WOD. The gear you randomly get from garrison missions is ilvl 40. At that
If you want to level in BfA, the best thing to do is take a max level character with enough rep with 7th Legion or Honorbound to buy the map from the Quarter master.
Mail it to your alt. If they learn it, that character now has access to all the BfA flight points you main has access to.
That’s fine if you heirlooms.
Again, BfA is perfectly fine if you have heirlooms or other scaling gear to deal with the lack of real rewards from quests.
Wrath is slower after 30 for sure. I still feel its more fun.
Legion is faster than both up to 45.
Being locked to BFA as a new player is a bad idea. They already put you on that path automatically, so if any player including NEW players wants to deviate from that and choose a different one then let them. Yet another example of Blizzard stomping all over player agency. Let them choose.
The new player that doesn’t know better, it is where Blizzard expects them to level. That’s the entire point of my original rant. we’re gonna lose new players
Actually there is another skip for the intro. Accept the quest to talk with Khadgar in front of the dark portal. Drop the quest when you get there and then just walk through the portal. It spits you out right after the intro is complete.
I did for RP reasons on a NE hunter I ran through this. Angry NE hunting horde for the tree…grrrr! lol
Thy really aren’t stacking the deck to this for non RP allure. NO neck till 50 (like everyone else).
And you can’t sneak azerite ahead of time. So even the contract (need) 3 man kill the rares are reduced reward before 50. Put another way…not worth doing really till necked up. To get the azerite.
You only get the intro to foreign lands for war story before. Just those 3 get your entry boat points basically.
So at level 50 elsewhere with good gear you can steam roll the 3 start points for war story and catch up fast.
NOw out there is a Draenei warrior for me. She is in WOD. Best place for her really.
Leatherworking. Once you have skill 40, you can use the relics to drop the level of the gear. So i can make head, shoulder, feet, hands, chest at ilvl 28 with the second rank of the relic. This works well for my level 30ish monk. There are of course 5 relic levels that scale further up.
This is also on a totally fresh server, no gold from mains or anything. Completely self sufficient.
Edit: I’m not using heirlooms either, at all (to up the difficulty of the game). My level 30ish monk didn’t lack any slot except for trinkets after level 15ish
Starting my third new 50 since prepatch today. I’ve run around all over checking to see what xpac I like and outside of feels (I don’t like how this feels now) they are all the same
I think the goal is to introduce new players to the latest aspects of the story so SL makes sense. As far as the actual lvl’ing exp in BFA well…I personally avoid it.
horde they didn’t do this well if so. I’d have done nazmir then zuldazar for cart on rails.
As is right now you will run out zuldazar to rezan being a turned loa. And Zul’s coup has started. And then…hit nazmir to find out how dangerous the blood trolls are.
HInt…they have started the revolutions in G’huuns name and almost killled the king. We know how bad they are at this point, mystery solved.
