DO NOT level 10-45 in BfA

The gear progression sucks and you can do far better absolutely anywhere else. WoD, Legion, Wrath, Cata…etc all have more continuous gear output from drops and quests to keep up with the fast leveling.

Is the xp good from non-bfa zones 40-45 or is it reduced?

So you’d suggest using Hierlooms?

WoD has given me the best experience by far since the pre-patch.

Haven’t tried BfA yet but from what I’ve heard a lot of people seem to agree with you.

That’s what I’m seeing.

Chromie time levelling should be the same across all expansion at all levels since it adjust the enemies to your level. If you are talking about running non BFA zones outside Chromie time than you will have to go Legion for the best 40-45 levelling.

Experience is normalized across expansions, but the questing paradigms aren’t created equally.

IIRC WoD is the most efficient, purely because they didn’t nerf exploration or bonus XP enough to make other zones comparable. But personally I’ve been enjoying leveling in BC, I like the model of “pick up 10 quests to kill 20 dudes each, we’ll see you in half an hour”.

Any alts I have been leveling up (3) I have been doing so in Legion… Even once I hit 45 I would not step foot in BFA. The expansion is a mess.

Once of the things that a warrior can do in their order hall, is research the ability to increase an items roll as a rare or epic quality when you are doing non repeatable quests.

Personally I’ve been leveling in vanilla and BC zones. The zones feel a lot more ground mount friendly to me.

yes, it is definitely good. no reduction

I did extensive testing 10-45 and I’ve found WoD and Legion to be the most fun and good progression so far. Wrath is good as well, has great options for alchemy crafting even. Cata of course is solid 10-30 since that’s its bag.

What I seriously worry about is the new player experience where Blizz shoehorns players from Exiles’ Reach into BfA for leveling and we’ll lose new players like mad come 2021

If you played BFA already, then you would choose something else automatically. BFA quests are good. Personally I would do WoD for the garrison or Legion for the artifact weapons. I also liked Cata zones. But will never touch Pandaria, BC or Wrath. But that’s just me. If you never leveled in BFA, I would do it. The story line is pertinent.

I’ve been leveling up alts in different expansions after the patch, it doesn’t feel like I’m missing out.

Leveling time is such a night-and-day difference, it doesn’t matter. Just level in whatever content you enjoy.

I did it to get some reps to friendly then moved. I agree.

I just finished the Tanaan intro and it was incredibly tedious.

Good XP, but… ow my hand. The mobs are such a slog. NPCs don’t help you sometimes.

How is the garrison working, are there story/questing blocks due to resources? I don’t remember.

You can completely skip that with the cave on Timeless Isle.

I never do the Tanaan intro because I hate it.

I only do the beginning quests up until you upgrade your base to level 2 which is maybe 5-6 garrison quests and beyond that I don’t touch them. just too much of a headache for me lol

For us Veterans there are a TON of options. I’ve enjoyed Legion the most on my mechagnome rogue and wrath on my darkiron shaman.

But I think New Players are pretty screwed, and that was the whole point of this squish, chromie time, etc.

Unfortunately I was told it was fast and easy XP, and needed to level quickly… it was good XP, but I am not doing it again.

Don’t level in bfa because bfa sucks
