Without spending your barter bricks first.
If you’re like me, you’ve probably been taking the Loamm Niffen rep pretty casually, and not focusing on it a whole lot as the season progresses. I just hit renown 12 with them, and suddenly my barter bricks are no longer worth what they were a moment ago. This is because you “unlock” Barter Boulders as the new ‘currency’ to purchase items from the NPCs in Loamm.
The item you use to purchase most profession items are Ponzo’s Cream and Glimmerogg Timeshare Voucher (25 and 80 bricks respectively). But now they cost 10 and 40 Barter Boulders. It costs 3 Bricks to purchase 1 boulder. Effectively nerfing the value of bricks significantly and making the purchasing of these items much, much more time consuming. These items functionally now cost 30 Bricks and 120 Bricks. Oh, and that mount you were probably eyeing a couple weeks ago? Used to be 170 Bricks. Now 85 Boulders. So that’s going to take you an extra 50% of time investment to get.
Why the hell is this even a thing?
Why the hell do all the items I could purchase with Bricks suddenly require Barter Boulders and why the hell have you implemented a system where you are functionally punished for playing the game? You time gated access to Barter Bricks and then you time gated rewards even MORE if you dared to play the 10.1 patch content.
Oh, but don’t you worry. You can purchase more Boulders! At Renown 20. The cap for the rep.
Blizzard, this is terrible game design that serves no purpose but to confuse people and artificially extend the life of the system you implemented which was already going to take months to fully complete anyway.
