Do let’s say the leak is true, does that offer a mutually beneficial ending

Are alliance happy that Stormwind gets blasted to pieces and it’s racial leaders killed?

Are horde happy Sylvanas is vindicated and all the horde hero’s are killed?

Seems like a cop out to me, but I’ll entertain others thoughts

happy? i doubt it.

now tolerable? maybe because it would mean that we all get treated equally, so we ended up all death.
and honestly seems like a good outcome considering teldrassil.
there is no turning back from that. it can’t end like in mop.

and plus, there would be this chance to revive some… right?

makes me think if it would be possible to revive those who died in teldrassil    it would make it more tolerable?

They should just destroy it all in an proper Endtimes event, not at the behest of a single character cheery picked to take the whole cake and the icing too.

We want some of that damn cake.

Nothing about an expansion where Sylvanas of all people stands on a cliff looking down on us in glorious “Draenor is Free” moment and tell us “We are now ready to fight the real battle!” will be considered a good ending for anyone outside the people like EdgeMaiden604 making a new update on fanfiction about such an awesome and totally unexpected twist.

The writers won’t kill her off. So I think then this says that alliance won’t be happy no matter what

Doesn’t seem like enough of a concept to be real.

edit: wait, I remember Nazjatar.

This would be the equivalent of the writers spitting in my face.

Not only does Sylvanas end up getting everyone killed, but is then self-vindicated for it? Like, no, people should be dog piling her a$$ in the afterlife.

I mean, Garrosh was eventually killed off for far LESS with no satisfying end to his arc, and Cairne and Vol’jin were both killed unjustly. What entitles Sylvanas to “life” after this expansion.

Also, there are quite a few massive plot holes in the leaked ending:

  1. If both Sylvanas and Nathanos were to die in the raid, wouldn’t that mean they’d be finally freed of Arthas’s curse and revert to their original selves within the Shadowlands? A high elf and a human? In fact, wouldn’t that be the case with all Forsaken?

  2. How many racial leaders would be dying in this final battle? The Alliance clearly has racial leaders to spare, but the Horde really doesn’t. Does that mean it would be easier to do the fight on Alliance?

  3. None of the Horde leaders scale at all well to a majority of the Alliance leaders, the only one that does is Sylvanas, but Baine isn’t on the same level as Velen or Anduin, Saurfang isn’t Malfurion or Jaina, and Lor’themar not Tyrande. The Horde leadership is nowhere near the same power level as the Alliance, in addition to being fewer. (And that’s without mentioning the Lich King aiding the Alliance)

  4. Since when is the amoral Lich King taking sides? I know his daughter is there, but I’m pretty sure Bolvar died and has become one with the Lich King, so he should have no knowledge or simply shouldn’t care.

I haven’t forgotten Teldrassil yet, so…

Nope, wouldn’t be happy at all.

I dont think a “this was my master plan all along you scrubs” ending from Sylvanas is going to sit well.

An ending where we kill eachother off isnt bad by itself. The journy to get there is the problem.

I have grown to hate a good chunk of these characters thanks to this expansion.

So seeing them all die at the end of would be cathartic.

Keep the dead part, remove the Sylvanas part and we’re good.

It’s … less horrible than some options, but I still don’t think it redeems the missteps of the start of the expansion.

Also, why does Bolvar personally kill Lor’themar, of all people? Yeah, I know, typical BE, but it just feels … weird. Gratuitous. Did Bolvar ever even meet Lor’themar when he was alive?

Assuming its true then Blizzard can kiss what remains of the dwindling Alliance player base that is still sticking around goodbye.

Maybe when they fought together under Alliance banners during the Second War. Otherwise, I doubt it.

Anyways, I think if all the characters die at the end of BFA, it’ll only be good if this is taken as the opportunity to do two things: First, keep the main characters dead. The writers tend to be okay when making new characters rather than trying to write for existing characters. Flynn Fairwind, Lady Waycrest, etc… both great characters. No one is going to say the portrayal of Sylvanas or Saurfang is good.

Secondly, time skip in the next expansion. We finish whatever we’re doing in the Shadowlands and our main characters are informed the living are attempting to bring them back and the world needs us. We start the next expansion on an Altar of Kings/Altar of Storms/Altar of Elders/Altar of Darkness. There are new leaders, it’s been a century or two because the passage of time in the Shadowlands is just weird like that, and we’ve got a whole lot of new lead characters to meet.

I’m not sure those are the same writers. From what we’ve heard, it seems very likely that different teams are writing the overall “grand plot” and the smaller leveling zone storylines.

Maybe, but if that’s the case then the leveling zone writers need to get promoted to character writers, and the people who handle the plots are just not allowed to ever touch characters again.

Happy that Sylvanas manages to magically turn the Alliance incompetent again and somehow conquer Stormwind in no time at all? Not really, but it’s whatever at this point. As long as they don’t expect Alliance to forgive her suddenly

That leak pushes me very close to quitting the game. What morons do they have on the writing team?

(My reaction based on a world where the leak is more than 4chan hijinks)

A Stormwind raid holds roughly equal value to me as a Thunder Bluff raid. Potentially interesting, if handled properly.

What absolutely alienates me from the concept is the “Everybody dies, and it was all 4d chess by the genocidal monster who’s been running the story into the ground, aren’t you all idiots.” end of it. That’s just stupid and lazy.

Remember when Warhammer Fantasy Battle murdered their setting with End Times and everybody hated it?

Well, evidently, Blizzard doesn’t.
