Do I need to do the war campaign?

Do I need to do the current war campaign to proceed with 8.2 content?

Probably only for the part to hold hands as Alliance with the Horde and free Baine from his prison.

The rest is most likely accessible without.

I was under the impression you can’t gain access to Nazajatar unless you’ve progressed through it since it’s that that sends you on the boat voyage. You will probs be able to access mechagon though.

Otherwise just get a lock to sum you.

In one of blizzard videos it says you need to be 120 and have world quests and thats it, i guess you will be able to go to the new zones but wont be able to do campaign quests

Won’t that feel super disconnected to be in Nazjatar with no explanation how or why? If you haven’t done the War Campaign, you’re still figuring out Zandalar or Kul Tiras, as a character. I guess I care about the story too much which is definitely a bad thing in this xpac where we have undead night elf wardens in the Horde…

No you do not need to do the war campaign. My characters can get over there just fine the ones who haven’t done it.

That starter quest should pop up for everyone regardless of where they are for the war campaign. Although I have done all the footholds for the war campaign.

No more disconnected than someone who skips a raid tier and comes back being called a hero in quest lines for killing a boss in a raid they never saw. The game is filled with in consistencies like this. Just think of the Warchief roulette you go though leveling a new horde toon. You can go from being in Org with Sylvy being Warchief, then go do the Silverpine quests and she’s being snarky to Gary and getting called bad names then head to Dreanor to find Warchief Vol’jin in your garrison.

You’re so right. The warchief roulette especially is so poorly done. I remember at one point while leveling this dude, Garry and Sylvanas were both warchief standing in different spots in grommash hold. I was like “uhhhhh”. Time. The passage of time is the explanation I always tell myself. That can be done here as well.

Well, it’s required for BfA Pathfinder pt1, but as long as you have that done on one of your characters, you don’t need to do it ever again on any other.

And of course, you’ll need pt1 done as a requirement for pt2 for flying!

I was thinking this as well. I’m changing mains for 8.2 because i find the shadow rotation and play style extremely boring after only coming back about a month ago. So now i have to go through the whole war campaign again before i can carry on the story in 8.2 ? This is just retarded especially with the time gating with honorbound rep. They should at least remove that so you can just smash through it as soon as you hit 120.

The Blizzard survival guide said any character that has world quests unlocked can access the new content. But I’ve seen some videos of people talking about needing to be caught up with it…

Guess we’ll find out tomorrow at the latest :/.

I faction transferred my main which was done with the war campaign through killing King Rastakan. So now I’m at the very first war campaign quest on horde and didn’t want to progress through it since my HoA was already level 50, and since the war campaign gives a lot of azerite I’d figure I would wait it out. That way at least all the azerite goes towards the 8.2 grind…

This makes it sound like we’ll get all the needed quests with 8.2, and the war campaign from previous patches won’t be needed.

I feel safe…ish… trusting the video Blizzard put out that said we just need WQ unlocked to dive in.

It states that yes we will be able to jump into nazjatar after doing the quest to unlock world quests but it looks like we’re still going to have to do all the war campaign quests before we can carry on with the 8.2 part of the story. It would of been nice if they removed the honorbound rep requirements but this is blizz we’re talking about. I guess its free AP.
