Do I need all the expansion packs?

I returned to WoW about a month ago. The last expansion I bought was Warlords of Draenor. I dinged 45 a few days ago so I bought the Battle for Azeroth expansion. Now I see there was an expansion in between - Legion. Do I need that? I think I’m playing Legion content now.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you shouldn’t have bought BFA.

The only expansion you need to buy is Shadowlands, everything else comes with the subscription.

Every time a new expansion comes the previous expansion is added to the base game.

Ok, that makes more sense now.
I was pondering how you would have been even able to buy battle for azeroth in the last few days.

What you bought is the Battle for Azeroth deluxe edition items. You’ll still need a Shadowlands license for the new content.

The leveling experience in BfA was pretty good, it’s just all the systems and the lack of effort on the extended story in the patches that drags it down.

The faction war was basically a lie.

Now looking at it, the only thing I got was the pet. The mounts aren’t there and the character boost isn’t there. None of the other stuff is there. I got a $20 Tottle.

No, you only need to buy the current expansion . Once shadowlands launches it becomes the current expansion , meaning all those before it are included in the base sub. Aug 28, 2020

Dump on? I think it’s kind of confusing. The technical current expansion is still BFA, so you might think you need BFA. I can see the confusion if you just check at a glance.

You should have the mount in your collections, iirc it doesn’t give you a item you need to click anymore. Boost should show up in your character selection screen, on the top right corner.
