Do I have to take REND for PvP?

I want to create a general ARMS build that’s good enough ‘serviceable’ for both PvP and PVE.
I use fervor for battle for Questing and PvE stuff. I’d like to use it in PvP as well.

Can I take Fervor for Battle for PvP?
Or is REND just too good in PvP to not take?

Rend is BiS in PvP by several miles. Doesn’t mean you have to play it.

You need More Dots BRO. Its a must.

Create a WA for it for easy tracking and re application. Remember that DOTs ignore armor and cannot be dogged, parried or blocked. This is key for pvp combat

if you are casual it really dosent matter. If you are trying to push competitive then you will need rend. War’s can put out a lot of pressure by spreading MS and Rend considering how easy we are to peel it keeps the damage rolling.

To piggy back off of that, Bleed effects also ignore armor, so do to the lines of numbers over the course of a fight, it can be an overall damage gain in comparison to Fervor, especially if you’re fighting another plate wearer.

But like Valdorian said, if you’re not looking to be competitive you can pick what ya want and see what works for you

The big upside to rend in pvp, is it’s constant damage on things trying to squirm away from you, it keeps pressure during those small windows when you’re waiting for a freedom/charge/leap CD

that being said, you can do whatever you like in BG’s, Rend is certainly more an arena talent (though i use it in bgs too)

you can definitely go 3x crushing assault, 2 gathering storm and with VoP major and just blender stuff in BGs if you have a healer.

I read that rend causes an additional chance for corruption to proc which is really good in PvP. That and having a dot going on prevents classes like rogue and druid to stealth.

true, but you have a dot from deep wounds anyways. though it is an additional chance for a corruption proc yes, which is important.

rending sh/t is fun though?

true! but i can see why some people dont like it, it’s a bit of a pain to keep up at times.
