Do I have to help Baine?

Tbh I’m just not motivated at the moment to boot up WoW and go check myself. I really don’t want to help Baine. Do we get an option to tell them no or is this mandatory for story reasons?

Update for those with the same question You can totally snitch to Nathanos after you get the quest. If Nathanos doesn’t have the option. You’re bugged so please send Blizz a ticket about the issue

I think there is a choice later on, for those not wanting to help Baine I am afraid you have to but might be getting a choice to turn on him later.

Once you pick up the quest from the Tauren at the docks, go speak to Nathanos.

But I don’t wanna help Baine. I wanted Sylvanas to twist Derek into an evil assassin that slowly murdered Jaina’s remaining family one by one until only she is left. Then, he would go and kill her too.

You can go to Pandaria and farm instead. That’s my plan.

You can betray Baine at the very beginning by telling Nathanos about it … exactly what I did .

Good. I need to make up for not killing Sira myself. ( Although to be fair at the time I thought saying no lets not kill her would mean we’d take her prisoner or something kinda as a later bargaining chip or bait for a trap )

I think I’m bugged, I went to Nathanos after getting the quest (cause he’s literally right next to captain) and he didn’t have any new dialogue options.
