Do I deserve to get kicked?

So im a level 61 death knight dps for a dungeon. Im doing this one dungeon and i pull one mob when nothing else is being pulled, and its the beginning of the dungeon. Just one. I only did this because so we could get through the dungeon faster. I didn’t pull a group, a boss, just ONE mob. So I get kicked and get the 30 minute deserter when I’m just trying to level.

Just hit what tank pulls and you’ll be good. if your tank your free to pull whatever you like. DPS pulling is a serious issue and kicking is needed.

Yes, if you pull one mob and a votekick message appear, i will vote yes.

Maybe the tank figured that if you stayed you were going to keep pulling random mobs. What else could he be expected to think?

Group sounds butthurt. It’s just a low level 5 man. I don’t know why they took the effort of votekicking you.

Then again I don’t know why you went through the effort of making this thread to complain about it when you could just go Blood and level much faster.

I have read your post most thoroughly, fellow Belf, and considered much from my own past experiences in instances, both as tank AND dps, as well as trying to run a healer(disaster!).
That said, my unequivocal answer is YES.
In fact, I would have done it myself, in that tanks’ place.

Lol no it is not.

Should you be nice and let the tank do their thing? Probably. Is pulling something to the tank worthy of kicking? Probably not.

Not to be mean… but seldom do posts like yours contain the whole truth… I’ve been on these forums a very, very long time…

However if you only pulled ONE, then still yes… that wasn’t your job to pull.

If it’s a mob you can easily handle on your own, like a non elite, kicking is probably an overreaction. If it’s an elite, especially in something like m+, kicking is justified. The tank is the one who sets the pace in conjunction with the healer. Dps come last.

in a leveling dungeon it can be very irritating to a new tank that is learning. So yeah prolly would have kicked as well.

It was a level 61 dungeon so yea i could handle the mob myself :l

I’d kick, hate when people do that. Often people think they are going faster but it is really just making things harder for others trying to keep the group alive. Especially if your just entering Outland dungeons not sure what level your dk is… it is especially stressful if your tank is taking too much damage already from those mobs. You can try tanking if you want to! More tanks the better really and faster queue for you.

If I was the tank I’d probably just first start off with a warning then. Ofc subsequent pulls would then be a big sign of disrespect and would initiate a vote to kick.
Also if the group is currently fighting a pack, never pull more.

Here’s the point: you weren’t ‘by yourself’. You were in a group; a group that you joined, voluntarily. That means, you act as one, fight as one, and generally stay together.
Solo runs = your time.
Group runs = everyone’s time. And you were wasting everyone else’s time.
/kick.

I dont see how i wasted anybodies time because it was at the very beginning of the dungeon and nothing was being pulled except that one mob.

Everyone gets offended, it’s not the biggest deal but tanks do get annoyed

100% this.
Unexpected mobs incoming when big-threat-buttons are on cd --> mobs hit the dps-es and healer --> more efforts from the healer --> more mana spent --> extra down time to sit down and drink.

IT. IS. JUST. THAT. SIMPLE

usually DPS who pull once pull multiple times…they didn’t want a chance of that. Stopping the issue before it happens, even if you didn’t mean to.
