Noob question but I’ve never played hunter in vanilla, only BC. I’m not seeing a taunt option that I can turn off and on for my pet. I’m lvl 17 currently and I have a panther from Tel.

Every pet can get Growl, yes.

I don’t understand why I’m not seeing it on my pet bar. Wait, you have to learn that right?
If the pet didn’t have it by default (not sure if any pets do), then you would need to teach it to them first, yes. And if you don’t know it yet, then you’ll have to visit the pet trainer next to your class trainer.

Go to the general tab of your spell book. You will have an ability that looks like a slingshot, I think it’s called Beast Training but I’m not at my computer ATM. You can train any pet ‘Growl’ from there.

^^^^ This. I had a brainfart wondering why my pet didn’t have certain skills. Totally forgot about the training skills you have to teach them with TP.

Yep that was my problem. Idk why I forgot. It was the same way in BC lmao.
Vanilla pet growl is not a true taunt (where the mob’s attention is forced on to the pet). Its rather just an ability that slightly raises threat.
For better results, tame a bird like an owl or carrion bird and train max rank screech. Combined with growl it should be able to maintain threat on anything below level 60.
