Do gms still message you in game?

Was it this one?

It was from the 2008 Blizzcon if so.

A couple of months ago, my druid got softlocked in an infinite disconnect loop. A GM contacted me then. And he was very nice.

They need to hire more people

It was an in-game npc. https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/psqb4d/ironically_blizzard_left_in_the_model_while/

They changed the painting cause it was deemed inappropriate and demeaning to women. It was nothing more than Blizzard taking a request that some of the over sexual themes be toned down than ramp it up to 100%

No, I’ve seen people with that Blizzcon bear mount before.

But in this case, the bear mount was all dark, and the banner was on the player, or maybe the back of the mount, iirc.

Plus their text being blue, I don’t think a player could fake that, as far as I know.

/moo :cow:

There are no more 1 month game time purchases available. You can only get 60 days. Blizzard also won’t call you unless you put in a ticket that allows a Call Back request. I am pretty sure they have not even been doing call backs since Covid and work from home. They monitor everything the GMs do and I think they stopped allowing them to do phone because it was not on Blizzard phone lines if the staff were at home.

Are you sure you are remembering that correctly?

Yup! There was a call back feature available & I selected it. It may have been quite awhile ago but they did indeed call me!

He gave me a specific url to type out & I was able to purchase 1 month game time.

i cant remember the last time i spoke to one but i do miss their goofy messages and how they were always really nice

Ok, that makes more sense now. Before COVID there was the Call Back option and there were also one month game time blocks. You had me scratching my head about it thinking it was sometime recent when that can’t be possible.

I had to put in a ticket during BfA after I had learned one of those Nazjatar crafting Leatherworking patterns, but it wasn’t displaying in my profession tab, so I couldn’t make the item even though I had learned the recipe.

Got contacted during raid by a GM, he actually needed me to log out of my character so he could take it over to fix the issue.

It was funny because the rest of the raid was joking around with him while he did it (or so they tell me). Then when he was done they told me and I logged back in and it was fixed.

Yeah, the playerbase loves to give CS reps a lot of doodoo but they’re just people working with what they’re given.

IM sorry but has a company owner this cannot be more wrong, yes the customers can be a f pest sometimes but there is nothing more important than the after sale human support, blizzard just doesnt give a flying duck about their customers, they know most of them are brainless zombies and those who really care cant do S because get stomped by their mass wave of brainless fans defending their very very controversials disitions

I have never once in my life interacted with a GM through in-game chat.

Gms ain’t the art team ya goof

I had a GM whisper me, but it was to help with an in-game issue, this was back in WoD they were very helpful.

I had one back in BfA. A quest was broken for me and dropping it wasnt resetting it properly. Was basically greeted and told I should be able to complete the quest now if I dropped and redid it and to have a nice day.

Last time I actually talked to one was back in WOD in response to a ticket I had opened. They even did the “GM appears in a puff of smoke” roleplay which I though was a nice touch.

I faction and server swapped a Pandaren, and they suddenly couldn’t understand their racial language. This is a problem, because I swapped them specifically to be on a RP realm.

A GM did contact me directly about it using the message window - but any other time they have replied to my tickets in a ticket reply while I was still online. Then I’d have to wait hours for a response again.

Right? The last time a real-life human being GM messaged me inside the game was early 2007 :joy:

Nowadays it’s just automated emails

Never, I’m certain most of it is automated now. It’s definitely copy/paste templates, I wrote those same templates for a large company years ago so I know how this goes. GMs are little more than customer service agents, and Activision Blizzard has continually shrunk their overall CS staff over the last decade. My shaman was broken for nearly 2 years, stuck underneath Nazjatar, and I just kept having my tickets closed. I gave up after a while, finally got her unstuck when I asked for a refund for service, to which they declined, and I was like well maybe you could actually do something useful for me at the very least then.
