I keep wondering why they don’t offer free transfers to ally to help with population balance. I think it would be something easy for Ion to do and yet crickets. Do you think even those decisions have been taken away from him?
It won’t make a significant difference. Horde who want to play Alliance on their current main will faction change on their own.
Do you really want new alliance players who only faction changed to take advantage of free stuff?
He is a “Game Director”. Not a marketing director. Not a finance director. Not a C level exec. I am willing to bet he isn’t even at the level of a VP.

Population balance is very much a game issues, especially when it’s affecting content being done and access.
population inbalance really doesnt matter anymore tho. Warmode puts you into a seperate instance with joined realms, and it depends on who turns warmode on, you could have it completely balanced but if more horde turn on warmode than alliance it wont make a difference.
And Blizz cant force people to play one faction over another
That would imply that others have power at all!
Ion is known as the first and last of the Blizzard. The master of the systems, the lag in the shadows, the RNJeeeeesus.
To balance populations I would wager consolidating the realms and offing incentives for certain factions to move to certain realms would help.
Then again I am no expert, so there might be a better way.
