Do Elf Ears Get Cold?

Seriously they’re just always poking out of everything they wear in every depiction I see.

Trolls and Elves are the oldest civilizations on Azeroth yet nothing, not even armor of their own design, can contain their ears. How?

Also what’s with the eyebrows? Are they like whiskers?

They are real, and they can cut glass.

Oops… wrong character.

Don’t forget full plate helmets!

Seriously, what are those things made of?

What, you think ‘knife ear’ is an insult?
It’s a warning.

Presumably they are modified to fit. Personally I wonder about those helmets that give my long hair an instant Marine cut.

I would not mind some little transmogable Elven “Ear Muffs.” Like little stockings for our ears.

Elves can always use more special treatment, as far as customization. The Golden Eyes really fit my mog.

Well, despite being the lesser evolution of the mighty Troll, Elfs and Trolls both have become superiority resistance to the harsh weather that there is no need for them to wear such silly things over the glory that is their ears.

That, however is where the similarities end. The eyebrows are a genetic defect that has come into its own. Because they lost the glory of the Troll genetics they can not simply laugh at their enemies and regrow lost limbs or organs lost after dragging their enemies back to be sacrificed in the glory name of their Loa. So they grow their long eyebrows

You see, eyebrows serves a duel role in the Elf’s nature. The first is it is a form of natural weapon so they could at least attempt to defend themselves from the harsh world around them if their ears ever failed them in locating the danger stalking them for an easy meal before they can run away.

The second and more critical of the roles is that of mate selection. By having the longest eyebrows, the female can pick out which male has a higher success of defending their young. Watching two males Elfs sword fight with their eyebrows is an interesting sight to behold, but the action could take days to actually happen, do to the Elfs inability to seem threatening, that with their timid nature and well, it’s no wonder the race is dying out.

it’s part of their thermoregulatory system. They increase blood flow to the ears when they need to radiate heat, and cut down the blood flow when they need to conserve heat.

In other words, they get cold when they need to. Covering them with a helm would defeat the purpose.

Why? Thinking of accepting our invitation to crash a in New Tinkertown while you get back on your feet?

Pull up a tarp, we’ll make room. Mind your head in our 4 open houses, because my you’re a tall one!

Might I add: I would consider myself a dutiful student of elven anatomy, and as such I hypothesize that due to their origin underground as dark trolls, elven eyebrows began as an adaptation suited to squeezing through tight spaces.

As we all know, anything an elf’s eyebrows can fit through, their body can. Those ribcages can just about fold up and twist around more lithely than the wiggles of my big meaty thigh. I’m surprised the Horde doesn’t implement some kind of strike force comprised of orc and tauren warriors ferryng two or three elves folded up in a convenient carrier for surprise mobilizations. Imagine the look on the Alliance’s faces when they think they’re facing ten warriors and end up staring down the sharp, pale, pointy little eyebrows of forty.

“Elf stuck in the wall, eh? Okay, now you’re talking my language”

Not if you roast them over an open fire.
