well the death knights are supposed to be heros of the horde and alliance that were fighting the scourge. I always assumed it was in the western and eastern plague lands, and since the alliance added Dreanei to their ranks in TBC it checked out

Let’s be honest…it’s been a long time when you could think through an entire section of WoW and not have to ignore, fill in, guess, etc the lore at any point of it.
