Do Dracthyr shed their skin like a snake?

So every month I change up my dracthyr’s appearance because I think of when he sheds skin like a snake or lizard that his scales change color (I try to do something with birth stone month colors).

But… do dracthyr actually shed their skin like reptiles? Do dragons? I see something with dragon scales but I’m unsure if dracthyr shed scales or if they shed skin.

What do you all think?

I think they save a lot of money by switching their flight insurance to Geico.

And they make nice capes.

Lol indeed Geico would save them quite a bit.

Gasps Don’t go running around hitting dracthyr!

Wait do you use dracthyr skin… or scales to make the capes?

Both. Does a good job keeping the rain off.

Watch it be like when my bearded dragon would shed. Their nostrils would temp get plugged with the skin around that area.

Had to geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeently unplug their nose once. It was weird to just gently nudge some inner nose skin out the nostril. Imagine a booger that is basically a small tube of skin

( He was a good boy for most of it so he got some apple bits to snack on. Those were his fav )

Like most reptilians, Dracthyr would need to shed in order to grow. It’s proabably a natural mechanism that’s so finite that people might see it as Dracthyr dander or simply shedding a few scales from time to time.

All reptiles shed their skin as they grow. I don’t see why this particular breed of reptile wouldn’t. However I don’t think theres a single reptile that just changes colors for the sake of color, most do it to match surroundings for camouflage. But hey, a giant bipedal lizard that can talk can probably make an exception.

Dragons are fantasy reptiles.
All reptiles shed their skin.

Do with that information what you will, none of this actually matters.

They should. That would be a cool animation.

The unzip their skins. If you look closely you can see the zipper.

Yes.

Yes.

C.S. Lewis describes a dragon molting in Voyage of the Dawn Treader, I believe.

I’m loving these responses so far lol

They evolved from chickens, didn’t know that did you!

Even if its not intentional, shedding can make it seem that way with their new coat of paint showing.

Well too I think some lizards change color when they molt depending on diff factors but I could be wrong on that.

Nope. Their skin gets old and rough. Like a dried up gator.

How do you know? (lol) Blue in Stormwind actually talks about molting (well kind of)

They do?

My dracthyr is horde side so I had no idea.

Yeh over a doggo; which I personally can’t blame them… I would too

Now I just think we should get a “Shed” racial ability that we can do one a day to get a random 1% haste/master/crit/vers buff from our new shiny scales feeling so fresh and so clean.
