Do DKs decay like Forsaken?

Im assuming since both are apart of the undead factions. Do they decay overtime. Or is their magic different from forsaken?

No, DKs are created more strongly then Sylvanna’s forsaken due to Frostmourne. All Sylvannas has is the weaker strength of banshees to reanimate, which ultimately fails. LK’s undead Dks can last forever when hes powered up.

Don’t DKs basically get a more potent form of the undead handwavium energy than what the Forsaken got second hand?

It’s kinda muddled now because until WotLK the Forsaken weren’t raised by Valkyr.

Yes and no. Like forsaken and all other scourge units they decay so slowly as to not be measurable.

Only spirits so far have immortality in terms of not aging to death and even then that isn’t confirmed.

Their magic is much more advanced than the forsaken, they have a perfect soul to body bond unlike Sylvanas’ forsaken

this is why Koltira was locked up in Sylvanas’ basement, she was more than likely experimenting on him to find a way to create a more perfect undead for herself, like Nathanos.

They’re both reanimated by necromancy, but as others have said, the magic that keeps a death knight chugging along is quite a bit more potent, and can sustain them indefinitely if properly maintained. But Forsaken aren’t necessarily insta-rot like the game portrays; if you die in a relatively harmless fashion and are reanimated by a val’kyr, you’ll look like you did when you were alive, and the apothecaries can keep you looking OK for a very long time.

They do. A Forsaken – already half-rotten – died and was reanimated again as a death knight. The lore even states this can have deleterious effects on their memories and personality, turning the already dour Forsaken into emotionless automatons.

If I ever do I just death strike and end up with more effective health than I started with.
Decay is inevitable though. We all do it. Not just the undead.

Does the intro ever mention how long you’ve been dead before rising from your tomb? They probably did all their decaying in the ground.

Doesn’t the DK starting zone specifically state that they decay and need to maintain themselves to stave off that decay?

I’ve heard Death Knights do have self-healing abilities which would even make the Trolls envious.

I sort of believe, or like to believe, we used runic Blood Magic to maintain our bodies. Steal guts, blood, and bones from others
