I missed my chance to copy my character over, and if those characters still exist I’m seriously considering doing some activist investing by spinning up a fund to buy Microsoft shares, and force Blizzard to re-enable character transfers to the Vanilla realm. If they do not exist they can use scripts to revert characters to an earlier period in time most likely.
I think this would make a bunch of money as the transfer period was rather short. I just need to convince Bill Ackman or Martin Shkrelli they’d make a bunch of money. Martin could probably do it with his army of internet trolls. It would be nice if Blizzard would inform us first so we don’t waste a few billion dollars trying to get our characters back.

I just want to be able to tank Patchwerk on my level 60 priest, without having to spend another year gearing him back up. He has all of the best tanking gear available to cloth in the game. When I get meleed it’s as if I’m wearing plate armor.

They’re in Cata. You missed your chance.

I also regret that I didn’t transfer my character to Era. But I imagine it’s going to be technically difficult now since they’ll have to “downgrade” cataclysm, characters to vanilla. Unless they made backup copies of all character data before moving original classic to TBC. But that would be extra work for them.
I just hope that there will be anniversary to Era transfer before TBC.
Do characters exist from 2019 Classic on Era?
Yes. All of my characters from 2019 are on Era. I chose to keep them all on Era. Best choice I ever made.
As for people like yourself who missed the opportunity, well I’d like imagine there has to be some way Blizzard can get those characters back. But I also don’t understand why they’d still be sitting on that so

I guess buy 5% of Microsoft, and start threatening to fire people at Blizzard if they don’t comply.

My 60 shaman and 45 paladin got stuck in Cata.
I swallowed my regret of not copying them, and rerolled.

lol dude you would have to spend 288 billion dollars to buy just 10% which would also require SEC reporting. Then “maybe” they would listen to you… GL with all that
