so do they lock

Yes, once your subscription expires, I believe you’ll be locked out of any character who’s above level 20. They’ll unlock again if you renew the subscription.

Welcome to the Wyrmrest Accord realm forum, by the way. Tech support is our side gig but we’d love to hear about your RP character.

I still want to figure out what link is sending people here with support questions. Out of curiosity more than anything else at this point.

Isn’t the new starter lock level 10 now with the level squish?

Still set to 20.

It actually still goes up to level 20. There’s theoretically a lot more content open to a trial account now as a result, except that I don’t know whether or not you’re locked into the new-player leveling trajectory for all characters you make on a starter account, or only the first. At some point I’ll check.

I didn’t know this! I have some characters to update it seems

So, for reference, on a per account basis, characters are locked to the new player trajectory until you have one maxed out. This means that if you have an account that you’ve let the sub lapse on you’ll be able to do whatever content you’d like, but if you have a trial account that you’ve never paid for time on, you’ll be stuck in BFA forever.

If you go to the main forum page and select new topic, Wyrmrest used to be the default subforum, so anyone who didn’t know better just posted here.

Now we’re fifth in the drop down menu, and the first option that doesn’t start with “WoW Classic,” so I think that’s why the number of lost posters has tapered off but not vanished.

i have no clue what most of those words are

If you’ve ever had a character at level 50 on a given account, you can adventure wherever you want (thanks to Chromie Time).

If you haven’t (i.e. on a trial account that’s never paid for game time), you can only adventure in Zandalar/Kul Tiras. [I don’t think anything in particular stops you from adventuring in Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms either, but all other expansions would be off-limits because of level requirements]

Reminder Tec-support folks, Push the survey, I am not seeing you guys pushing the survey!

You all want pay raise but none want to push the survey.

So, next person who ‘helps’ with out pushing the survey will be calling people about car warranty!

I thought I’d chime into the thread and share my experience as someone who did have only the starter edition account when prepatch has launched. While the game tried to ‘push’ me into Battle for Azeroth questlines, I was able to go to the noticeboard and take quests that’d send me to Draenor and Broken Isles.

v cool (now i type random stuff because 10 word min)
