Do Blizzard Customers Have The Ability To Report Employee Bad Behavior?

Go ahead and quote the case then. Shouldn’t be too hard.

I figure a case like that would’ve boiled all across the internet.

Google it, I am not going write a long winded, case argument.

More to the point why would you not want those protections?

Good thing this is a private forum.

And a yikes for good measure that you even said that in the first place.

Yet you wrote a long winded original post making much ado about nothing.

You gotta read the rules before you play the game op.

Does someone want to explain to me how it’s become common to misunderstand the first amendment?

Sorry, your generalizing/twisting the facts to conveniently fit your position.

I could google it if you knew so much as the case name . You want me to google blind what you apparently already know?

Also no I don’t want these protections. I think Moderators deserve protections as well. Moderators have a job to do and if they have to be afraid to do it, it just opens up the door for lots of troll lawyering.

It’s not as if you can’t go elsewhere if the moderators deem your content inappropriate for here.

Three short paragraphs.

You know what, I’m going to quote this gem so we don’t lose it when the OP decides to backtrack.

We want “protections” against the kind of garbage put into posts by people who think these forums are a public soapbox from which they can spew anything that comes into their minds because of some mis-applied interpretation of the first amendment.

By agreeing to subscribe to their product, you, as poster, agree to abide by their rules and to accept their moderation in THEIR terms, not in yours.

The CM’s provide this protection for the community, and I, for one, am quite happy they do, and applaud them in the performance of their good work.

That has 220 words.

How is that “short”?

My reply to your reply is short. You wrote a novel compared to this one.

First Amendment only protects you from the Government not from private individuals and companies

Agreed the cms need the protection of anonymity especially in this day and age.

So i’ve looked and as far as I can see as of last year there have been two court cases regarding internet speech. Neither of which applies here.

One means the government cannot pass laws that persecute speech on social media (this is not social media)

The other means that even offensive trademarks must be registered by the patent office.

So i’ve done my google, and unless you want to actually take the time to prove your case, I think it’s safe to say there isn’t a court case that applies here. It was your job to prove your argument anyway.

There is a major difference to that kind of speech and what I am talking about. Normal speech is protected.

It’d be nice if you actually knew this sort of thing, but you clearly don’t. It protects you from government controlling speech. This is the first time I’m hearing that Blizzard is the government and not a private organization (/s). Though it seems like you’re just trying to cause issues, so I hope people don’t take what you’re saying seriously anymore.

This is THEIR forums, their rules. If you don’t like it, you are certainly able to leave.

The Blizzard family of employees is like some inner circle clique in High School.

They look after and protect their own, even when they’re wrong, so trying to get understanding from one of them about the unpleasantness of someone in their ranks will at best grant you a condescending dismissal.

As a counter point, I’ll cite all the reasons to be open minded about Blizzard employees below:

  1. uhm
  2. err
  3. eh
  4. ack

And that’s about it.

Ummmmm nope. I think you need to learn how the first amendment works. It is DOES NOT apply to privately owned forums. Can you go to your boss and chew them out and swear for no reason and keep your job? Nope. You will get fired. You can’t go into a movie theater and start yelling and talking non stop or you get kicked out. You can’t say “bomb” on a plane.

Man. So many uneducated people. It is sad :frowning:

And by posting you AGREED to the rules that Blizzard has when posting on THEIR forums.

In case you have “forgotten”:

“The guidelines and rules listed below explain what behavior is expected of you and what behavior you can expect from other community members. Note that the following guidelines are not exhaustive, and may not address all manner of offensive behavior. As such, the forum moderators shall have full discretion to address any behavior that they feel is inappropriate. Also, suspension or banishment from the game will always result in the same in regard to forum access. Your access to these forums is a “privilege,” and not a “right.” Blizzard Entertainment reserves the right to suspend your access to these forums at any time for reasons that include, but are not necessarily limited to, your failure to abide by these guidelines.”
