Do away with melee

To start , I am and will always be melee. I am not “LEET” like most that will respond here . i like to do mythics but what is the point of melee, if the affixes are always horrible for melee, no one wants melee . It’s easier to have 3 ranged dps (ALWAYS). Anyone else feel like this ?

i wanna know why for m+ mobs have toxic frontals that can hit melee and 1 shot them on high keys. like what? It’s soo tilting to do a massive pull in HoA for example and get hit by a thrust from the melee mobs that you can’t even see with all the visuals, aoe, and if theyre stacked with other mobs.

nothing personal but i don’t trust opinions about which role is easier from people who haven’t done both

No, last season was terribly melee-unfriendly. Yes, good players roll with it. But there are a lot of affixes that are quite a bit worse for melee to deal with.

I brought a warrior and monk to my 16 DoS today and they topped dps. If your tank isn’t slow kiting mobs to keep you out of storming/sang, find a new tank.

i have a hunter and mage , just dont enjoy as much as DH ,rogue , feral , etc

They severely nerfed storming from 9.0. To the point where it’s almost a non-affix. I even had a few triple melee groups this week already and no one had a hard time with it.

do you raid or do m+ on them?

Based on season 1 and 2 achievements, no.

Being a warrior, I try to blade storm them if I have the chance. As long as I’m not losing uptime it’s golden.

Range hasn’t been higher risk/reward since TBC, when they had to throttle their dps so they didn’t pull agro. These days they can just nuke away and if the tank is good, never pull agro. All the while not having to deal with a vast majority of mechanics. Yes, there are some ranged ones specifically, but those are far and few.

have you raided as rdps? if so, have you found that you rarely have to move or handle mechanics? because I’ve raided as both melee and ranged and both have stuff to do.

I have played a Mage and Hunter in raid, not to the same extent as I have my warrior. I can assure you that in the M+ context of OP’s claim, yes, there are a ton more mechanics melee needs to dodge or handle that ranged do not.

There isn’t any point though that’s pretty obvious to anybody playing the game. Not only does melee simply have more mechanics than ranged we’re also target capped for no legitimate reason because Blizzard wanted to drive their game into the ground. The worst part is the fact that we have to wait until next expansion just to be uncapped again.

“moving out of stuff that will kill you” is a mechanic for ranged too. i promise.

They miss a single auto and they throw up their arms, clearly have never canceled a 2s cast to move then restart that cast.

Just… mark your tank and stand off to the side.

Thing is I usually have 1-2 melee in my group. Now the issue is melee is most played dps role. If you getting declined isn’t because you are melee. It’s because either melee spot taken or you lowest that’s applied.
