Do any of the SoD devs play Druid?

Because it feels like they don’t, judging by how awkwardly the class is being handled.

Balance started off as a meme spec, where Starsurge literally did less damage than Wrath, and the devs massively over-buffed it to the point where it became a menace in PvP, and now they’ve over-nerfed it back to “less damage than wrath”, and the spec is back to being bottom-tier DPS. Even with the extra buff to Starfire damage, we’re still bottom 3. Yeah, Starsurge was massively OP, but nerfed way too hard, with Wrath/Starfire/DoTs not getting buffed enough to compensate.

Feral DPS started off pretty nice, getting great utility (windfurry) and some thicc DPS to boot, but Mangle got a bit nerfed and the spec has fallen off in P2, now also bottom-tier DPS. Though this might be because of Gnomer bosses having way too much armor. They’re pretty much only brought to raids for Windfury.

Feral Tank was pretty bad in phase 1 due to having zero AoE threat and being ragestarved most of the time, not to mention having the lowest DPS of all the tanks. Nothing at all was done to fix it other than reducing the rage cost of Lacerate, which helped a little but didn’t really make the spec much better. Wild Strikes sharing a rune slot with Survival of the Fittest is awful. Lacerate sharing a slot with Mangle is awful. We are getting some buffs…next reset, not sure why they’re making us wait, but now Berserk will actually work with Lacerate, and Swipe is getting a big buff too. Hopefully this will make Bears actually competitive tanks again.

Resto is arguably our best spec right now, but even that has its issues. Wild Growth is very powerful, but the other healing runes range from “meh” to “steaming garbage”. Lifebloom costs way too much and heals way too little. Same for Nourish. Living Seed is actively trolling to pick because HoTs can’t even crit, and we don’t even have much crit to begin with. Right now, Resto is pretty much a DPS that occasionally casts Wild Growth or Rejuv or throws out an instant HT to spot heal. It feels less like a healer and more like a “support” or an “off-heal”.

It’s definitely an improvement over base Vanilla, but so many aspects of the new SoD elements are just awkwardly implemented or feel like they weren’t tested at all.

Neither Cat or Bear is fun. I dont care about the DPS as long as its competitive. The runes though have not fostered a fun or engaging playstyle. Bear is basically a Vanilla tank and cat is a WF totem that has to hit savage roar to do their actual damage. Finishers on cat may as well all be deleted.

They for sure don’t have anyone with classic knowledge of the issues with kitty, bear, or boomie based on what they’ve given us.

Bear’s issue was always it couldn’t scale by anything except attack speed (MCP), couldn’t potion without pshifting, and didn’t have any big mitigation cooldowns equivalent of shield wall. So they gave them static mitigation (didn’t need), removed their scaling with attack speed (no MCP) and replaced it with nothing and no ability to scale, and gave them the equivalent of last stand which they didn’t need at all and no shield wall equivalent… Pretty clear they don’t know bear.

Same with moonkin, issues were always scaling, going oom, and lack of spell hit. So they got starsurge which was really good for scaling and a free wrath which was good for OOM, but now it’s all nerfed and bad to the point where OOM is an issue, they still have zero scaling, and have no help at all with spell hit.

Kitty similar story too, no way to scale, no MCP, mana issues power shifting, etc. and no apparent help on the horizon.

CHANGES ARE WHEN THINGS WERE ONE WAY BEFORE BUT ARE A DIFFERENT WAY NOW. THINGS ARE NOUNS. NOUNS ARE PARTS OF SPEECH. SPEECH IS WHEN PEOPLE USE PHONEMES TO FORM WORDS AND THEN COMBINE THOSE WORDS TO VOCALLY OR TEXTUALLY COMMUNICATE IDEAS.

A chance for non warrior classes being good caused me to sub for SoD.

Nerfing druids and other non-warrior classes back into healbot only status is why I unsubbed.

I’ve played this version before and it didn’t turn out fun.

Yeah that’s honestly what it feels like right now. Druid is literally only being brought to raid to be a Wild Strikes bot, or to be a heal bot.

I started off as druid in P1 and switched to lock for basically everything you mention. Recognized all of those problems within the first week or two of playing it. No idea why some stuff gets buffed/nerfed but then thigns like Lifebloom are completely ignored.

Took them months to finally give bear buffs when you could play it for about 20mins and instantly see all the issues it had clear as day.

But yep, right now you are just a windfury bot and nobody wants you for anything else. 2x priest healer is still superior in every way to bring to raid.

I understand you got scorched a few threads ago about rampantly crying over druid nerfs, and then sock-puppeting your own cry threads to agree with yourself while actively and adamantly trying to separate druid specializations as individual classes instead of Druid being the class and the talents being specializations…

But this is completely inappropriate, and bordering on harassment. Go away.

Also, didn’t you go scorched early on literally every druid player, calling us all furries who like to yiff or whatever, and then throwing around a bunch of insults and emojis to further drive the point home? I think you did.

How to fix Feral Druids

Change the base game so all weapons give Feral Attack Power based of weapon DPS

Reduce the cost of Powershifting

Let Bears use mangle and lacerate

Make all bleeds + swipe scale well with AP

Get rid of savage roar and give Druids a flat % buff.

savage roar should make you ignore 100% of the target armor while its active

It would be cool if they gave Druids a bit more of a class identity in feral cat beyond “rogues but worse”. Rogue cheap shot 5 second stun 2-3 combo points. Druid “cheap shot” 2 second stun, 1 combo point, nonscalable 90 damage over 18 seconds. Just absurdly worse.

Rogue ambush: 250% WD + 125
Cat “ambush”: 350% dmg + 147 which sounds better but weapons are stat sticks and don’t give ap to Druids so it’s actually worse. Plus all the rogue talents to increase anything they want.

There are many more examples but the point is using SoD to make us different would be really nice. Rogues have poisons, they gave cats mangle which points to a bleed focus, but then gave us nothing else to synergize with that idea. I’d like to see mangle damage increase for bleeds for allies decreased and personal bleeds increased. Maybe drop allied bleeds to 15% and personal to 40% or something.

Edit: also make Faerie Fire give Druids hit and reduce chance to be resisted when it’s on a target. We lack hit and reduced resistance so badly.

Yeah, almost like people hope the changes in SoD will make least played specs better and more fun

Druids are only wanted for Wild Strikes. That’s it.

Being a windfury bot with bottom-tier DPS is not very fun or enjoyable.
