So I’ve just finished Shadows Rising and I notice some details about these two. It seems that they had grown apart since their reunion in Legion. Turalyon still shows a passion toward Alleria, shows her that he truly care and willing to justify for her and her actions. But in the other hand, Alleria doesn’t repay that in kind, she didn’t deign to sleep with him in the same tent, refused his protection when Jaina confront them. I still believe they are still lovers but after thinking about it, I would say otherwise.
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: It’s complicated.
Relationships are hard and they’ve been together for like 1,000 years or something?
Technically more than 500 years. She left him after to study the Void for the other 500 years.
Of course they do. But ATM Alleria wants Sylvanas dead before anything else.
Considering Turalyon has been predicted to die, I thought this relationship would’ve ended sooner.
When was Turalyon predicted to die? Can I have the source please?
It’s probably pretty awkward for Alleria to snuggle with her S.O. when the ceaseless voices in her head can keep up a running commentary.
I was only an infant when my father was deployed to this wasteland. All that I have ever known of him is what others have told me. Do your dreams change, ? Mine do not. I have one dream: A crimson skyline envelops me as Legion, numbering beyond comprehension, battle in the distance. I kneel before the body of a man, presumably my father, and weep. As he is gasping for air, his body wholly crushed, he whispers something. Despite every effort, I am unable to hear what he is trying to tell me.
nothing really complicated about it, the book makes it very clear that they are soul mates.
alleria’s worst fears are those where her family dies and they walk around arathi torturing people as a tag team. there’s not a bit of conflict between them
This pretty much. Their relationship was pretty rock solid in the book if you ask me. This is a stressful time and they both know and get one another. Also…
Great bonding the two did
So you’re basing this on them not sharing a tent and Alleria being a strong woman who doesn’t need no HMP to protect her?
A mission isn’t exactly the time to share a tent to be honest. Not like they’re camping out in Northrend where a warm body would be welcome either. Keep in mind the nature of their relationship has always had Alleria taking on something of a protective role with Turalyon as well. In the audio drama, when they’re being stalked by a demon, its Alleria who protects Turalyon. Turalyon, for his part, knows his wife well enough that she doesn’t need his protection, just his support, and he always gives her that.
Yes they do but they clearly need therapy.
was it 500 years? I know she was gone for an extended period of time and did X’era put her in prison for some time as well?
::Alien scientist horrified face::
"THEY’RE CO-DEPENDENT!"
I think the fact alone that they’ve made it work for over a thousand years means that they love each other enough to make their relationship work through the hardships. There are hurdles, and they’ve both acknowledged that there’s hurdles, but they’re trying to work through them rather than shy away from them.
If the whole business of being super Light on one side and super Void in the other and knowing that a single miscalculated touch could blast them off to pieces hasn’t broken them up then I can firmly say they truly love each other.
That and we have Alleria always fearing something would happen to Turalyon.
What’s really sad is that they didn’t even get the chance to raise Arator and they are probably going to outlive him.
Both of them are so chargedup with opposing energies they can no longer touch each other.
And while they may love each other passionately, that does not confer absolute immunity to their relationship breaking up anyway.
Personally I suspect that Turalyon is fated to die… at Alleria’s hands.
I mean it seems to be retconned lately in Shadows Rising? If I remember correctly there is a small part where Turalyon reach out for Alleria and that touch didn’t burn him unless she is in her void form, instead the touch feel like a balm or something??
Can’t check right now because I’m at work.
I think they currently are but I think this difference between Light and Void are eventually going to drive them apart.
Especially when Xe’ra returns.
