I listed to the originals when it comes to metal. Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, etc. My favorite band for the last decade or so has been Trivium.
When I’m in the mood for fantasy, or inspiration, you can’t go wrong with Manowar. It doesn’t get much better than Heart of Steel.
I’ve seen them 4-5 times.
The first time was in Milwaukee during the Somewhere in Time tour in '87. I drove 14 hours with my best mate from university. We managed to get 7th row tickets the day of the concert!
After their encore, Nicko stared directly at me and flung a snare top to me! Half the 8th row jumped on my arm! I could keep the arm & lose the snare head, or lose my arm. I still think I should’ve kept the snare head!
As a gay man, I listened to mostly pop, and rock growing up. Got into house, trance, techno as a teenager. Oh, there was also nu-metal and punk lite in their too. I was a 2000s teen after all. That said, unlike most gay men, who have terrible taste in music, I continued to broaden my palette.
At the age of 27, I began getting into metal after a life of never getting it. My first major breakup, combined with the threat of blindness, and healing from surgery transformed me to loving metal, punk, and rekindled my love of (now dead) nu-metal.
not really lol, i listen to a lot of different types of music when playing wow
killswitch engage, trivium, breaking benjamin, infant annihilator, suicide silence, parkway drive, all that remains, five finger death punch, ready set fall, slipknot, sometimes i even listen to queen XD
