I got to thinking about all the negativity some players project towards any hybrid class, such as Paladins, and Druids, and thought:
How cool it would be to have an addon that lets us monitor who we place on our “black list” (doesn’t mean ignored) and those player names will show up in a different color to alert us.
Simply put, if we see them out in the world or in a group taking a dirt nap, we are unable to assist them due to the AHA (Anti-Hybrid Act) or (A-Holes Anonymous) they enacted with their outspoken views and beliefs against these classes.
I mean, I see no reason why these type of players who are so venomously against hybrid classes would take offense to such a thing, right? Why would they want their soul saved by us dirty hybrids
Think it’s a bad idea. For this reason. Hybrid wi have a hard enough time finding groups if they don’t want to heal. So if you go out of your way to help others and make friends they will be more likely to try and help you get into content and speak on your behalf.
Oh I know this and will be doing just that, I was just interjecting a little “fun” on the side with ways to deal with all the projected disdain for hyrbrid classes.
How is stating hybrids could only heal in classic is being anti-hybrid?
That was the definition of hybrid back in classic lol. The hybrid-tax was real.
PvP… now that was an entirely different situation.
The moment you start healing on a hybrid is usually the moment you say goodbye forever to playing any other role, because that’s all you’ll be allowed to do from there on out. Nobody brings you because they “like you”, but because of how overtuned your healing buttons are. They may try and flatter you by saying you’re really good at healing, but it’s all a manipulative lie so they can have things their way with little regard to your own feelings.
Takes a thick skin, saintly patience, and shrewd eyes to play a non-healer hybrid spec.
Alternatively, y’all could get the chip off your shoulders, realize that hybrids were specifically designed to be worse at any specific role than the specialized classes, and accept that most groups aren’t going to want to deal with taking a paladin or druid tank/DPS when they could just take somebody who’s fundamentally better with less effort.
As a 25/26/0 paladin I have just never really ran into any kind of bad mouthing, and it’s usually people begging me to heal for them in BG’s and dungeons.
All classes get sh*t talked, hybrid or not. Just know your role and be good at it.
Actually, blizzard has implemented a feature like this since 1.0. It’s incredibly effective at preventing negative communication. I will provide a step by step.

type /ignore
this part can get confusing, after /ignore, you make a space and then you type the player’s name exactly as how it appears
