DnD Cleave effects

Why does Unholy/Blood gain a cleave effect on the base death and decay, while Frost must be Night Fae in order to get this cleave. It honestly sounds pretty stupid that Frost is the only spec that gains nothing from the base Death and Decay. They have to play Night Fae in order to get this effect. While the strength bonus is base across all 3 specs with Death’s Due.

While I’m at it, why doesn’t Frost have Soul Reaper? Unholy gets an execute, but it just seems like they just screwed Frost over with some of these things. Frost doesn’t get the base cleave effects, and they dont get the same execute we’ve had before in past expansions. I honestly feel like they don’t know what to do with Frost, and just throwing things at the wall until it sticks.

We also get shafted on 2 of the soulbind abilities for NF.
Grove invigoration and field of blossoms.
We get a 1/4th of the value UH and blood get.

Go figure.

On a flip side, you don’t have to spend an extra GCD to throw DD or SR in your rotations.

My main complaint is Necrotic Strike is not applying the debuff. -.-

It baffles me that you would want to chain yourself down to a ground effect for your AoE, especially in this tier. I would drop DnD out of UH’s rotation in an instant if we could talent into something like Necrotic Plague or just a stronger epidemic. Why not ask for a buff to Frostscythe instead??

It’s not so bad for Blood because as the tank you’re usually controlling the positioning, although with affixes like storming I’d bet they’d drop it too in favor of something that moves with you. As a DPS, I’m 110% okay with DnD not being a mechanic that’s critical to my AoE.

This is completely valid. We told them back in beta and got ignored. It’s like if Fury had execute and Arms didn’t all of a sudden.

This doesn’t sound right, could you elaborate?

[Field of Blossoms] - Similar to [Grove Invigoration], this ability is also nerfed for us. Again with a factor of 4, making the haste buff actually last 2.5 seconds. Still a really nice ability that is a solid DPS gain.

This is from your own guide

But it’s nerfed for all DK specs, not just frost.

[Grove Invigoration] - The first Soulbind ability we receive. It’s important to note that the stacks gained are nerfed by a factor of 4 for Frost! This means that we only gain 2 stacks whenever we use. It’s still a good spell and a solid DPS increase!

Reading this first and then the next one implies they are both nerfed only for frost.

Why does frost get get a better dot than Unholy?

Why does Frost get better passive ST cleave via GS and rime procs?

While we’re at it why does frost require no setup when you target swap while unholy has to put a pimple on them.

The answer: different specs play differently.

Updated the wording to hopefully make it more clear, thank you

well yeah removing the word frost clearly changes things lol, anyway any guess as to why these are nerfed so hard for us?

Are you implying that FF is better than VP?

Not that I’m saying it’s other way around, I’m curious if I interpreted this right.

Is there any other DoT that I’m missing?

Think it’s simply based on the frequency of trigger. We can trigger it on a 30 sec CD which is a lot higher frequency than classes that have a 2 min CD.

Ah yeah that makes sense as far as grove goes, i think it’s a little much for field of blossoms though, 2,5 seconds of haste feels kinda silly to me.

I think he means its damage.

At my lvl I’ve seen my ff crit go up to 4k. Vp can barely touch 2k.

Well… That’s a yikes.

VP is hard to nail down though, its quadradic both in the eruption and when combined with epidemic, the more targets the more damage VP does. single target though, FF is stronger.
