So, both factions camp the DMF buff 24/7 when it is on their respective zone. And if i had to guess, everyone that is doing the raid would probably prefer to have said buff.
Whether you are casual or play all the time, I don’t think anyone enjoys spending the amount of time and effort currently required to get DMF while it’s held by the opposing faction.
World PVP is great to have and can be extremely fun, I just don’t think it’s healthy for the game to put a highly sought-after buff (Used mostly for PvE content…) in the middle of it.
Feels like adding an NPC in a capital city that could give DMF would be a simple fix, but happy to hear any ideas/suggestions.
EDIT*
Clearly the NPC suggestion hurt some feelings, but ultimately something with the DHK’s and Alliance guards/civilians could use a change. Take them out, add the same for horde side, whatever. If they aren’t gonna work on class balancing, at least make the territory people are fighting at a fair playing field.
form a raid of players in the area that also want the buff and kill the campers. i have never had an issue doing this. dishonerable kills have been nerfed so hard that they barely do anything regardless. i have always had dmf camped by horde in mulgore. i have always had to form a raid of other players in the area that wanted the buff. and honestly i enjoy that little pvp event it reminds me of og classic where the griefing levels associated with this were on another level.
Yeah, try to get DMF on a horde character right now. DMF itself has a raid of alliance at all times. There is a multi-boxing hunter on 5-6 characters that has been on the past two days, as well as multiple groups with stealth classes roaming around elwynn forest as a whole. Level 55 guards right next to where you get the buff, that get pulled everytime a horde raid tries to go in and contest
Simplest argument is that you do not need dmf buff to clear any of the content in classic. Dmf is solely for parsing so youll never see the devs implement a safezone around dmf on either faction. Best advice is to grab it late at night or on a safer zone.
They weren’t. You still lose an entire honor rank when 1 person in your horde raid uses an aoe skill that kills the low lvl NPC’s right next to the sayge.
So then why have it in the game? Would you argue that all other buffs are just for parsing too? Why take consumables to a raid if they aren’t “needed” either?
Made a 40man raid on Crusader Strike horde to go get DMF, and got griefed by MULTIBOXERS HUNTERS AND BOOMY camping there all day. short story we got wiped and now I have to wait 8hrs before I can try again, gReAt WoRlD pVp GoOd GrAcIoUs GoD, anyone advertising that this is pvp and good for the game and community you have a problem in the head.
But IMO People been “gatekeeping” buffs since OG classic.
Before chronoboons you had NEs in stealth waiting to dispell you at songfllower, dead shamans and priests outside raid portals with target macros for the streamers/99-100 parsers/ect.
I cannot wait for the groups of shamans purging buffs off of people running through BlackRock Mountain… or the Priests mind control jumping you off into the lava.
