yea i agree. its the same problem that frost dk had in dflight with the one shot stuff.
for me, if something is op it doesn’t matter it it feels unbearable to play with lol. like sure things being strong makes it fun but the level of degen that these iterations of frost ruin it for me
Yeah. It actually looked like they were getting away from the one shot crap with tww. They lowered the cooldown on pillar and redistributed some of its damage, which was a good start. I fear that dce might be here to stay and continue to be the frost meta for a while though.
Something no one ever mentions is the value of a hard switch - much harder to do effectively if you have to build necrotic wounds back up from zero on a new target.
Same logic could be applied to death rot stacks also since its duration is too short and needs constantly refreshed
exactly, necro wounds is a design that run counter to the the way that unholy wants to be cleaving a lot, so its in an awkward spot where its single target is not enough to become threatening with necro wounds and its aoe isn’t impacful enough for it to be meaninful
Both necrotic wounds and death rot are cleaved onto multiple targets. You can also doomburst or apocalypse on a swap to get stacks rolling quickly if you haven’t been already.
I feel like there’s too much weight being put on the solo shuffle strat of tunnel one target and never tab
This isn’t entirely accurate. You can’t always control who the “extra” death coil is going to hit and they only need to dodge one for stacks to fall off because the duration is so short. Now you are technically building and popping wounds on cleave targets but it’s a fraction of what you’re doing on main - which is in itself hard enough to reach 6 stacks in a timely manner - and you have a very limited window to capitalize on it since stacks don’t refresh.
Nobody is running pestilence anymore so DnD doesn’t build wounds. Pet build is the way forward.
i brought the point to show how dk lost its anti wizard spot. 8 micro ccs is eccessive, but it being weaker now opens up design space for something else
Dk is still the anti wizard class (right after warrior lol)
It’s just that the classes you are being dumpstered by aren’t wizards anymore, they’re gods–mage, ele, (devoker?)
You still shut down the other wizards perfectly fine. It’s not a dk issue, it’s a blizzard-needs-to-balance-their-game-properly issue. Buffing DK to god status will just make things worse
What’s changed you still have the cc
If you can’t land a kick then send the 20 cc options first and the kick after
Dark Transformation pet (45s cd) > Move it out of melee of target > Charge them for chance at 1 second lockout or 4 second immunity to everything that instantly loses you a major cd or the game
Similar thing with Sham where you’re gambling unfavorably every shear. Casters, as always, assuming a competent level of play, are advantaged
