Don’t forget, We still have many flat nerfs to our entire defensive toolkit and talents, from S1 when about 70% of the DK sustain problems all came from spellwarden, and a somewhat hidden interaction it was having with Will of the Necropolis
You would get a passive spellwarden proc, which would Absorb magic damage equal to a huge portion of HP (20%HP already arguably OP not even mentioning the other effects to keep it simple)
And at 35% HP you would Absorb 35% of the damage you received constantly
The way Deathstrike functions is it restores roughly 10% Health flat, Plus 40% of the damage you receive within 5 seconds previous to it being pressed. Absorbed damage contributes to this intentionally to make abilities like AMS valuable to press as a defensive, But that interaction wasnt designed with the existence of Will of the Necropolis or Spellwarden in mind
What ended up happening is deathstrike was being constantly fed getting massive buffs to its healing from damage the DK was never even receiving in the first place due to all the passive mitigation, While simultaneously being extremely tanky from just the base effects of Will of the Necropolis paired with old Spellwarden
The main issue, Was the passive reductions, And the combined pair of strong passive absorbtion effects Nerfing Spellwarden, and Will of the Necropolis was extremely justified and extremely good for the games health, I will even say that completely PRUNING spellwarden was also a good and healthy choice but that poses the question
If 1 part of the main problem is no longer just nerfed, but completely gone from the talent tree, Why are the modifiers on nearly all of the previously nerfed talents and abilities still in place? Its fair for Will of the necropolis to still be what it is now, But why should Deathstrike still be nerfed?
Why does permafrost have to be so bad, ontop of being poor design by making it from auto attacks, should be just passive shielding up to a % of health and regenerates quicker based off damage dealt
AMS could be a little stronger, And bloodforged armor could last a little longer and be a little stronger
