DK starting area mailbox and blizz stupid mail

^^^ This, found this out a long while back and made sending this guy a shirt for under his armor a whole lot more easier. The little mini map in the corner should have a means for you to right click to track things like flight paths and mailboxes to make it easier to spot as you go around.

this was meant to be “feedback”?

seems more like complaining just for the sake of it.

in the time it would take to reach the mailbox, delete the mail, delete the character, create the new character, level through the zone… they could have simply quested out of the starting zone and hit the barbershop, and have the character they want.

:woman_shrugging:

heh if they hadn’t wasted time coming here to complain about it, it could already be over and done with!

if it was a problem with the character name, i could understand.
…but a problem with the appearance… seems a bit over the top when it can just be “fixed” as soon as they leave the zone

I admit that it was indeed a complaint and more me whinning because it frustrate me but tbh complaints are also a form of feedback

I think its a valid complaint let say instead of messing up the way she looks I instead messed up her race , something a barbershop can’t fix and something I have to pay too to change , what then

and still I shouldnt have to play any game time even if its only a couple of minutes only to be able to delete a toon if I desire too

DK starting area still exist? I made a Vulpera about a week and a half ago, and it started me off in ICC before moving me to Orgrimmar.

I guess it must be for allied races only.

From a design point of view, all toons should have a mailbox immediately available. When I start a regular character in a starting zone, there is usually one right there. Start a human character, you are like four feet away from a mailbox. It would not have taken much to put a mailbox at the very start of the DK start area, or Exiles reach. I don’t see how anyone can defend this poor design by the developers. At the very least, the developers could have found a special way to let people in exiles reach receive the special blizzard anniversay mail. They could have delayed sending mail to toons in exiles reach. A bunch of things they could have done, but they did not, and that is poor design.

There is a mail box. Go to the farm house & you’ll see one. There’s even a quest pick up right next to it.

Yeah I found it thx

There is a mailbox. It is in front of a house near where the horses are that you need to steal.

Why should somebody have to play a character for 30 minutes just so they can fricking delete it? That is ridiculous. Your basic defense of the developers is that anything they mess up is OK as long as it does not take the player too much time to clean up the mess on their own.

But… there is a mailbox in the DK starting area. I used to mail myself heirlooms there. Did they take it out?

O.o

this maybe an example of the most first world problem I may have ever seen exhibited in this game.

If it’s not a race change then what is the big deal? All you need to do is go to a barber. Leveling in that starter zone for 30minutes not looking like you exactly want is that big of a deal?

I don’t want to tell you how to play the game you pay for, but if it’s not a race change then what’s the big deal is all I’m saying.

they put the mailbox in this area for reasons just like this.

characters were mailed pets on creation, and we used to have to mail heirlooms.
those were “blizzard created problems”, so they created the collection tab.

the warforged nightmare hitching post thing was also mailed to each character on creation (not sure if it still is)

ikr? i mean it’s not as if they’ve got anything else to do.

due to stampwhistle being disabled in exiles reach, it seems there’s a reason they don’t want mail active there at this point.

why would they delete it?
it was an appearance issue which can be resolved as soon as they hit a major city.

yeah i’m willing to defend that.

i mean… how hard is it to look at the screen to check the character looks how you want before entering the world?

what’s wrong with a bit of personal responsibility?

What even is this complaint? You can change everything about your character now at the barber shop. Did Op forget it’s not sunday?

You can’t even defend the complaint on this one for the reasons you are giving. Lazy, lazy, silly troll.

If you really want to delete the character, simply run to the house where the mailbox is in the starting area, delete the email and that toon.

Yep. Back in the day I always used it to mail looms before they went on the collections tab.

Still just what you want to see.

People say the same stuff about LFG - instead of just waiting you can talk to people and form a group faster. I think you just rush to “defend” when there is no need to defend. I’m not sure how the suggestion to change deleting a toon with mail impacts you so deeply. I’ve had characters I can’t delete, I dig through their bags, get rid of gear and still can’t delete. Just let us delete them!

I bet OP would have a gone ballistic when you used to make a Panda and due to the game giving you mail (the safari hat) you were either forced to go though the whole unskippable starting zone, or had to make a ticket.

What Op is going through is nothing in comparison to that pain…

i’m not sure of the point you’re trying to make.
i fail to see how the two are even remotely related.
some realms were too small to get a group together… lfg/lfr fixed that.

it doesn’t “impact me deeply”… i just don’t see the need for it.

half an hour of play to get out of the zone and hit up the barbershop is more sensible in the long run, and saves them having to re-do all the quests they’ve just done.

it’s weird how people are happy to complain constantly about how much stuff is “broken”, but want resources devoted to irrelevant stuff
