Every time I start the Death from On High quest, when the Eye of Archerus reaches the target area the client disconnects.

Yep same here even with no addons enabled.

I ended up abandoning and then restarting the quest. Not sure if it was coincidental, but then it worked.

I tried that it still disconnects when it lands 
I made another Dk and it worked the other dk has mail i wonder if its a bug there.

Just reproduced the same behavior as Kiwical described above today. The new DK that keeps disconnecting on this quest has mail. Created a new dk (no mail sent to the new char), and I’m able to do the quest no problem. Log back on to the original dk (still has mail), and proceed to disconnect every time I start piloting the orb/eye.
Huge bummer because there isn’t a way to get mail (as far as I know) and I would love to be able to use the name I chose for my dk but also can’t delete the char because they have mail.

Having the same issue on a male Undead lvl 9 DK. I have no mail double checked with a toy “Katy’s Stampwhistle”. I tried both the right and left orbs. I abandoned and reacquired the quest and still the same behavior.
So after running around the Ebon Hold warped to the lower area talked to npcs then back up and finally re-abandoned and reacquired the quest it worked… no rhyme or reason! Good luck all.

I had a new DK that keeps disconnecting on this quest that had mail I sent from an alt. keept disconnecting on when the Eye of Archerus reaches the target.
I ended up using the toy [Katy’s Stampwhistle] to retrieve mail from mailbox. Then was able to complete the quest with no disconnect. (https://www.wowhead.com/item=156833/katys-stampwhistle)
I have a new DK with no mail that is disconnecting as soon as I take off in the eye.
Hubby had exactly the same problem. He kept getting disconnected while he was in the eye. To fix the problem he had to allow the battlenet desktop app through his firewall. After doing so he restarted battlenet, restarted the game and was able to finish the quest.
Just started a DK Undead. Not sure if this is a fix, but I removed all my heirlooms and put the plain gear on, and suddenly it worked. I suspect it’s important to have your brand new rune blade.
same here and it’s June 1. Wonder when they will fix this.
Still happening June 15, 2023. Add-ons disabled. Restarted client. Dropped quest, restarted quest. Same.
Had the same issue on my DK. It’s very annoying.
I have had the same issue. No mail, no addons. I have tried with several races.
EDIT: I took the teleporter to the other level. Talked to the unholy trainer and had her switch my gargoyle to the valkyr. Abandoned quest. Took the teleporter back up and accepted the quest. Used the right-side Orb and It worked. This was on my human DK. I got on my Tauren DK and just tried right off, and got DC’d. I am going to do what I just described again and see if it works for him.
EDIT 2: I did exactly as I described above and it worked again. I am not sure the switching gargoyle for valkyr had anything to do with it, but I wanted to replicate what I had done.
