I recently made a dk and I have it on tank spec rn and I’m doing more dps than dps specs. Was dk buffed or something? I’ve been considering going unholy because I heard it’s a very good spec. Thoughts ?

Usually through leveling tanks do more dmg. At current content both dps specs beat the tank.

Leveling DPS means nothings. Blood got a massive DPS nerf with the prepatch changes. Wait till you are max level and against equally skilled/geared people. Your DPS will fall off a cliff comparatively.

Blood is amazing for solo content. In blood, a dk can survive a lot. They aren’t great at throughput, but you can round up several targets, drop Death and Decay, and use melee until runic power fills up. When runic power is up, you use Death Strike for single targets or Bone Storm for groups of targets.
In group content it is highly unlikely that a blood dk is going to out dps a frost or unholy dk. Once unholy gets ramped up, if they maintain their rotation, they are pretty good dps indeed.

You mean Unholy? Yes, the spec is very good especially in pvp right now, but it does require gear (at least north of 30% Mastery to start) and personally I would say it is very high on the skill level to learn to play properly.

Yea i like unholy. Just know that unholy is one of the hardest specs to play in game. Frost pales in comparison ironically being a dk dps class as well.

What was your ilvl compared to the other max?
Also when there are level differences comparative DPS means nothing. Scaling is weird.
Don’t forget most people who play this game are terrible. I regularly beat DPS as a healer, doesn’t mean my class does more damage, just means they don’t press buttons.

No, its just for leveling only. Proper DPS will easily outdo it.
it wasn’t very high i just got to lvl 50. and yeah idk but i really was beating lvl 50 chars on my lvl 25 dk

Hence why I said proper^^ if a DPS was truly geared and knew their rotation well, they should easily beat you. Unless however they are one of the poor perfoming specs like feral, then there’s a 0.1% chance of finding one that will out DPS you cause feral sucks.

Yeah, I was smoking people before prepatch on a regular basis on DPS as Blood.
Now I’m lucky if I do half of what I used to do.
On the bright side though, I still don’t die. Fights just take twice as long to solo now.
Eh, it isn’t that bad honestly. The main thing I miss is TD doing massive damage. Considering the absence of TD though, it isn’t bad.
They added a hidden -30% damage debuff to Blood. It’s a bit rough.
It’s really more of a +0% than a minus 30%. Prior to the nerf, Blood had a 29% damage buff aura to all of its abilities.
Can I just say how much I DESPISE hidden aura buffs/debuffs? Laziest garbage game development ever.
