I get that the wispy blue eyes are iconic. But I was doing the DK order hall campaign, and there was Lady Alistra, a blood elf DK with red eyes, and Sally Whitemane, who had no glow to her eyes at all. Bolvar, who’s eyes were only blue when actively using the helm (which has been destroyed/transformed into something else)…
Death Knight players could be given the options for whatever race they pick, or they could get the forsaken treatment and be able to choose between blue, red, green glows, or a faded, non-glow option. After everything that has happened with death knights, I don’t see a reason, plot-wise or mechanical, that they couldn’t have different eye colors.
Edit Note: There are more Death Knight NPC’s without the blue glow that I did not list.
1: Sally does have blue eyes, yes. That do NOT glow, which was what I said.
2: Yes, Alistra is a death knight trainer. And she is a death knight.
3: You may be right there, as Arthas started calling himself a death knight after having his soul stolen by Frostmourne, which never happened to Bolvar, as far as I know. Still, even if you’re right about this, I’m not sure what your point is.
What, in your opinion, is the lore reason why every death knight MUST have glowing blue eyes?
Since you don’t like the examples I gave, I’ll also add Minerva Ravensorrow, who has NO eyes and is classified as a blood death knight by the class hall mission table. And Thassarian, who, like Sally, has non-glowing eyes, and is a death knight.
Edit: I’ll admit I’m not a death knight expert, or a death knight main, so if there is some explanation for this I am not aware of, I’d be happy to know of it.

Why bring up Bolvar when talking about eye glow unless its to get his eye glow? He is unique.

Everyone is classified as a Death Knight in that thing. Liches are classified as Death Knights in it, abominations are… its not a source for information on what people are.
He does as well. The human models with the face scarring doesnt show the DK eye glow. This is a known thing.
