DK eye customization

Some extra customization for DK eyes would be neat. Various shades of green/red to match our plaguey and bloody specializations. Something like a sickly emerald green that matches the Maldraxxus green color to an almost teal color. And of course dark red eyes that really give that sanguine feel. Black eyes would be cool too, dark colors that match the black-purple of shadow magic.

it sounds cool on paper, but it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense through the games story and such

They added different eye glows to normal undead too, though. Red and purple and green. In that context it makes perfect sense.

Eyes?

Ocular organs.

They aren’t death knights

There’s a difference between raising zombies and raising death knights

All the undead that was infected and raised by the plague are zombies

An undead death knight is due to dying twice and the 2nd res is from death knight powers

There isn’t actually any lore that states that Death Knights cannot have these eye colors. There’s no reason not to add them in because it looks cool. That’s what most customizations are about, looking cool.

Before, undead only had glowing yellow eyes. Why was it like that? It probably just looked cool at the time. When they added in new customizations for undead, they added a bunch of new colors for them that have never been a part of the lore before, they just look cool and give players ways to express their character more. It’d be cool if DKs got something similar.

Most are us players that can be a death knight

The others are NPCs that blizzard only lets them have it the other way around

Undead have glowing eyes because they were raised differently, mindless zombies at one point

The eye colors they had was always a thing even in the TCG characters they just finally gave them their colors

But being rezzed as a death knight overrules whatever zombies get

“Unholy light” can mean a lot of different things. It even says there that “Others may lack the eye illumination”. So there’s obviously room for exception. There can easily be a “green unholy light” or “red unholy light” or “purple unholy light”.

Arthas was the first of ner’zhuls death knights

His eyes are blue

That’s the “unholy” light

I want the option of no flaming eyes. I hate it and won’t even play my DKs anymore.

Their old eyes being an option would be welcomed. The tails are neat sometimes, but sometimes ya just want some solid eyes.

His eyes weren’t blue until he merged with Ner’zhul, because it looked cool. Again, if the eyes have to be blue, then how come some DKs just don’t have it and instead use the regular human cultist model? There isn’t a good reason for it. You’re trying to come up with theories on why it wouldn’t work based on nothing. It doesn’t change anything about the lore to have DKs having an outswelling of magic that reflects their spec or own personal customization goals.

Also, the current generation of DKs weren’t raised by Arthas. They were raised by Bolvar, who had orange eyes until he tapped into the power of the helm of domination to turn blue for a short while. If you absolutely need lore justification for why they’d have different eye colors, you can easily fabricate it and it touches nothing else about the story.

I wish we had a way to turn off the eye smoke. I liked it better when eyes were just blue. Though, having some other colors would be cool, too. Nothing against that, but smoke or no smoke would be a nice option to have.

I think fire eyes similar to Bolvar for Dark Irons would be awesome

I agree, I think they should have the option to remove the wispy tendrils coming off your eyes if you want it that way. Customization should be all about cool options.

I think this would be cool as part of a quest line you can do like how Night elves can unlock the night warrior customization.
