I think they should start at 10
They still seem like something an experienced player would make rather than a noob

Have you seen an LFD group with 4 DKs or 4 DH during their respective expansions?
Full on clown shoes
It does feel kind of weird intuitively, but I don’t think it really changes anything. It sounds like Shadowlands is going to be a much quicker leveling experience overall, which means that they want the focus to be on the later stages of the game. If that’s true (and I believe they said leveling will be about 60-70% faster, and that’s on top of now being able to select much more efficient zones) then we’re probably going to forget the difference really fast. Just my 2 cents.
It’ll be fiiiiine.
With the balancing it will work out also think about it like this: it will keep them up to scale with friends with party synch no matter what
Nah its going to suck, you get a new talent every level in the original setup, but now you’re going to be like everyone else and get a new talent every 5 levels or so and your skills won’t be so front loaded as it is now.
And those levels without talents will have new abilities, ranks for the abilities, and meaningful stuff like riding
The free level boost in recent years has really made that argument moot OP. There hasn’t been anything keeping new players from making a DK or DH on their first day of play for some time.
The reasoning for starting at level one could be the only way to logically allow for allied races to be DK’s. It is just a guess, and a vague one I admit, but there really nothing to base things off of right now. Whatever the actual reason turns outto be, it is a moot point.
Also, they could lift the 1 Demon Hunter per server limit since they don’t start at a high level anymore.
in deep growly edgy voice I sacrificed every single level… what have you given?
Create a bunch of DK’s now. They will all become level 25 when expansion hit. Profit.
The difference between 1 and 10 is like an hour. Also the main point is when they get out of their starting zone, they skip to levelling zones. I think the only reason allied races start at 10 is because they don’t have actual starting zones - just a little questline through existing stuff and maybe a racial themed starting base of operation.
This too. Maybe try that with demon hunter too. Might be hilarious if your level gets squished to 25 but you’re still in the starting zone and it’s scaled to level 1-10. I suspect blizzard will think that’s too fun-ny and work out a different level squish algorithm for dk and dh.
But why would you make a demon hunter, let alone multiple?
If anything, Demon Hunters are one of the easiest melee DPS specs to play. It’s a very “New player” friendly class.
what happens to a dk in the old starter zone when the new one is out?
I think they actually do start at 10. The graphic where it shows them starting at 1 is incorrect.
Edit: Well I’m seeing both, so who knows at this point.
